after weeks of waiting for ANYTHING i pulled my oneill 5/4/3 Heat out of its bin to get ready for dawn patrol, and low and behold it has really bad dry rot around the neck area and it is toen. i think i left it on the heater last time out and it must have melted away the material? wtf...dont be an asshole like me and sit around watching a swell come and go with your **** in your hand, now i have to fork out 500 without the missus knowing...spam for the rest of the winter.
Not if you go the Hyperflex route like me and Matt. I have the 5/4/3 amp and it is the warmest suit I have ever owned, also the most stretchy suit ever. I paid $260 or so from Wetsuit Warehouse. Sorry for your troubles, hope this helps.
Yeah Firewirerider. All my suits are Hyperflex and dont let the price fool you they are the best suits I have owned . Ask anyone here or search my posts LOL I like there suits
Yeah no sweat . I just no see the sence in spending 500 bucks for a suit when you can buy something for half the price that is just as good or better in my opinion. Let us know how you make out hopefully you can still get in the water tomorrow
i have an oniell winter suit but i a hyperflex for the rest of the year have not had an issue with either of them you might have just had bad luck bro i havent heard anything bad about them before
dude, matt, seriously . you need to get commission for all these people converting. it just doesn't seem fair that you are doing some awesome sales for a company i would otherwise think was **** just because of the name. get me in contact with their VP and i'll recommend you for 10% for every sale you make. beer money.
it was my fault it was left on the heater. stupid **** i am. I ordered the hyperfles FLOW 5/4/3 from wetsuit warehouse. we'll see...
Yeah he said he left it by the a heater so it possilbe that caused the Neopreane to dry rot like it did. I just like Hyperflex's stuff plus they are local aswell
You'll be happy with it . thats what I am in now and its a really warm suit .Its almost to the point where I am on the verg of sweating. I am styed out as long as 4 hours without a chill
firewire youll love it...its a warm suit and it fits me great. i think i have the flow or amp, whichever one is the cheaper one? too bad youll miss some surf. is there anyone you can borrow a suit from or check and see if any shops have one you can borrow or rent for the day. I know Kcoast has rental suits but theyre prolly just 3/2s but its worth a shot
also try to see what o'neill will do...possibly if you send it back and explain they would give you some money towards other stuff?
there might be some swell lingering mid week so you might be back in the water by wedsday . If not there is supose to be a swell in the long range swell chart
this is probably my first winter season that Im going to miss since i'm too broke to buy a new wetty. hopefully warm weather comes soon enough.
Had what is now considered the flow and loved it. Used it hard for a year but had an issue with the knee delaming. This was my own fault since I bought an xlt rather than an xl and the knee pad was below my knee cap. Called them up, they gave me an RMA and next thing I know I had a brand new suit in the right size on my doorstep.....after a year of use! Wore that one for a year and sold it to get the new Amp which was 60 bucks more but is incredibly nice with a satin like sin that sheds water. Other than getting ducked I don't feel any moisture but sweat .
Same here. Hey Matt, how's the longevity on the Hyperflex suits? I've read some complains that they quickly start to deteriorate.
