    I really enjoyed watching this video btw. The waves got good in the last 10 minutes of the video. Funny seeing how it's pretty much the same spot 51 years later. Barry, were you on the beach for this?

    Yup, I was there on the beach.
    I knew then it was then end of Rincon as my private background. I was 17.

    By the way, the guy that invited the contest people there was the owner of the Hobie Surf shop in San Juan. After that contest, nobody bought boards from him--he was finished.

    That was sweeeet! Thanks DawnPatrol321 for the cool post, very enjoyable to see the old old school guys and girls surfing in good tropical waves on old school surf craft.

    The announcer was a total dork, which makes me realize some things never change LOL.
