OK. Just trying to help bring the Old Geezers into the new game. You have to admit Cryptos are proving to be pretty resilient, no?
Can't say, Bally, because I have not been following it at all. For me, it is all about bonds and stocks in traditional trading modes, which works for me! Thanks though, appreciate your input.
A guy that I worked with first told me about bitcoin about 8 years ago? I think. So the fact that it has not only stuck around but grown considerably more popular (albeit with the younger crowd) is proof that it has been resilient. It also must be conceded that 10 years is not a long period of time, relatively speaking. no doubt, it's volatile too. Much more than the markets, which have most brokers constantly reaching for their bourbon and Maalox. Whoever started in crypto while early in the game has probably done well. i don't really know what to think about crypto. It obviously can buy you goods and services, so it functions as $$$. But I have a hard time wrapping my head around something that is not tangible. It's almost seems "fake", like it's Space Money. but I'm sure previous generations felt exactly the same way with the advent of paper money, then cheques, then credit cards. It probably is the wave of the future, while us old guys ride the white water to the beach.
Well, if your riding the white water in, you were probably outside and enjoyed some “peaks”. You may be right on the wave of the future. Although, I think it will look different...think MySpace. Or, even worse, Tulip mania. I think electronic currency is inevitable... But, only after the super powers scrutinize it and control it. Unless, it (crypto) can blow past that and create its own global value. If it does that, then it will turn the corner in some form. My concern is the central banks and fed reserve aren’t ready to see (or allow that to happen). So, I would not be a buyer today. If you got in under $1000, you have done very well and more power to you. I will continue to work it to the inside so I can ride the white water to the beach!!!
Oh man, could you imagine if the internet went blank. The collective anxiety would be too much...millennials would not know how to act or live lol!
