And you shouldn't all the time. Gotta know when to, and when not to.

 

I find listening to Trump speak as highly annoying. But he did get 2 conservative judges in, and reduced taxes (yes-I did feel the difference).
So, with that I am happy enough with his presidency.
But I wish he would just give up on that Wall and place a line of machine guns along the border and gun the invaders down. That needs to happen once. Invasion over. And cheaply.
NEXT--aim them guns at Congress dems......at Schiff and Nadler, and ask..."what is it you guys want to know??"

 

Yeah come on Sig, like when he said "Mexico will pay for the wall" and "we are going to replace Obamacare with something even better". Can't take him seriously. Every president gets a pass like that. Remember when Obama said "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor". Nobody took him seriously and we totally let that slide.

 

If Mexico doesn't stop the flow of migrants over the next year, Trump is going to put tariffs on their automobiles being sold into the US. That will pay for the wall don't you think? For the record, I never took him seriously on this, just sayin...

Like when he says they have a terrific health plan to replace the ACA, when in fact, there is no plan (big lie). Or when he says his father was born in Germany, but was in fact born in the Bronx (small lie).

 

I don’t think you can say tariffs will pay for the wall unless that $ is used for construction of the wall. If that is the case then China is paying for the wall.

 

Agreed, the problem is MEX. They're laughing up their sleeves at our nation. They allow these migrants to joureny unimpeded through their country to hit the USA.

Here's an idea. Look at the map. Rather than try to jam up these migrant people across 2,000 miles of MEX-USA border, let's send our troops to the MEX southern border. Cut that approach right there. It's much more managebale, shorter distance, easier to control. Put the MEX Coast Guard to work in the oceans on prevent defense.

The Mexicans would probably be relieved. End of all this societal hand-wringing & money spent by US.

As far as his Father, I personally do not know where he was born, nor do I care. Maybe he didn't know he was born in the Bronx, maybe he was under the impression he was born in Germany, because he was German. There's all kinds of things I don't know about my parents or my family history.

Some of what I know is probably a lie or made up for all I know because it's been passed down to me and I accepted it as a child. My Dad doesn't know his Father, but he was told he is Italian and was a cab driver in Boston. Now, nobody knows that to be a fact. But it's what my family has been going on for many years. Just to give you an example of how things like this can happen.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador softened immigration policy & began offering humanitarian visas to Central American asylum seekers making the trek across Mexico.

Mexico also has cut back on deportations. In the first three months of Mr. López Obrador’s government, which began Dec. 1, the number of Guatemalan migrants deported by Mexico fell by 32% from the year-earlier period, to nearly 8,000. Total deportations of illegal migrants from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador fell 13% during the same period.

Meanwhile, the number of illegal immigrants detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection more than doubled during the same period, rising to about 165,000. The vast majority are children and migrant families from Central America.

Smugglers often paint a misleading picture about conditions on the U.S.-Mexico border and U.S. immigration laws, says Carlos López, who manages a migrant shelter in Guatemala City run by the Catholic Scalabrinian Missionaries.

“They put into their heads the idea that they should leave now before Trump builds his wall,” Mr. López said.

“Many people left because the coyotes said that children were an entry pass,” said Agradeli Martínez, whose father, Justo, left in March for the U.S. with her 14-year-old sister.

Guatemalan migrants account for the bulk of the rise. The number of Guatemalan families and unaccompanied children crossing the border illegally and apprehended by Customs and Border Protection between October 2018 and February was higher than the entire fiscal year of 2018, which ended in September.

o Barry, do you really believe an actual war is necessary? I don't. Build the wall and fix the weak immigration laws, like putting an end the lottery program and others like it that bring people here based on zero merit, and pass laws that make it so that people with merit come here, and move on, end of story. It's really that simple.

 

That article is well-written, pretty much a historical item with various viewpoints thrown in for different perspectives. The locals seem to not want the "right wing" activists in their town, understandable.

Similar to my preference that the leftist socialists would stop coming to my part of the country to burn vehicles, riot, harm police, harm federal employees, block expressways, damage structures, attack people on the streets & deny free speech to all people who disagree with their opinions.
