Yeah, beware of the guy who says he has a whole van full of them and wants to meet you in a secluded location. You need to be checking craigslist every day. Fortunately for us gulf coasters, there are a lot of people who buy boards & wetsuits, and then realize that not only are the waves very difficult to find on the gulf, but they aren't into making the 5 hour round trip to and from the east coast. At that point usually the board and wetsuit hit craiglist after being used once or twice, usually for less than half price. My current board is a 9"2 Hydro Hull, which would have cost $750 to $800 new. Got it off craigslist barely used for $350. My wetsuit is a 4/3 Excel Infinity, which is a $390 suit. Got it from a guy who used to own a surfshop and closed it down. The suit was brand new with tags still on it....got it for $175, AND the dude delivered it to me at my office. Craigslist is your friend.
