Don't know if this is a knock on Kelly or a nod to John John but man. The speed and power John John carried throughout his turns. So much flow. This the reason im a fan of his but to be able to see him in a side by side comparison to Kelly. Impressive. Believe iv only seen then side by side in barreling waves

Jack Robinson is constantly touted as the next gen future of surfing. Yet, he never makes it past the round of 16 & that, rarely. Maybe he’s bangin’ too much tail?
I bet you Jackie got hammered drunk after his heat at the box. That was an absolute clinic. Now with jus Jj, Caio, Julian and kolohe left, John John will keep the yellow jersey as long as he makes it out of his heat against Caio. If it’s a kolohe/jj final and kolohe wins, he’s still in second to John by like 700 points. I think John’s gonna win this year, but it’d be cool to see the John/brother rivalry throughout the rest of the year
Pretty impressive DEFCON4 response to the shark(s) in the lineup of the Moniz-Andino heat. When Medina & others stated many months ago that they wouldn't compete in Margaret River unless there was some sort of enhanced water security for the pro surfers, the Aussies really stepped up: at least 8 skis in the water during heats, several drones overhead, spotters with binocs on the headland & at least one larger boat roaming around. And yet, apparently it was a free surfer who was surfing next to the competition zone who sighted the crew of White Sharks heading for the WSL guys & who screamed his head off to alert the water security response team. A bit ironic that all of that technology was engaged & yet it was another surfer that kept those guys out of (possible) harm's way.
