Dear Adnim, What's Wrong With The Forecast?

At this point, I'm actually down for that. This is f-ing torture. I'm off for two weeks and it looks like I won't surf once... and starting to get as crazy as a sh!thouse rat.

actually caught some little glass this morning, but i forgot to check with any forecasting sites so im probably banned or dont belong in the water cuz i didnt check with windy.kook.com

 

I caught some knee high ones last week and then a t-storm came rolling in. I almost stayed out due to it actually being not dead flat, but lighting..... I hate lightning.

 

I just spent a ton for a premium surfline.

 

Keep an eye on accuracy. if they give solid forecasts i may bite the bullet

 

I'm sure not alone on this, what Mods are left not helping us on status of forecasting while they are quick to give one of us a time out! I'm so tired of this as we all thought it was fixed last Thursday, well its worse.

The IT guy is a programmer, he's unable to fix it and he doesn't understand forecasting but the "coding" went off line June 12th and trying to repair the code pathways has failed. He reports to "IT Central" for Carbon Media, in order to fix the forecasting issues will have to seek remedies of outside resources. So its in the hands of new owners of how they they'll proceed as their handling of the matter so far is just as "flat" as the forecast.

 

they need to get micah a consulting gig to fix it AND do periodic maintenance.

Please report back as to the accuracy of Surfline VS Swellinfo.

For easy access to cams alone, it may be worth it.

But for now- I use the WINDY app

I only check the Forume when im bored now

Hello I am Si Jesus, I have died, been to hell and was resurrected for all who have been banned on SI.

When it comes to writing code in PHP, it allows you to do anything and define any variable as anything you want. the code will allow you to break it, unlike other programming languages that will throw errors, PHP will not, it will fail...

There is no way in hell an average programmer will be able to interpret the way Micah made this code.. TBH, it is probably flawed as all hell. Even if you brought back Micah he would not even remember how he pasted this thing together... This whole site probably needs a rebuild... Normally Programmers work on sites continually, so a rebuild is more like a slow set of migrations instead of a full rebuild.

Remember PHP is constantly changing, it is open source... so every time PHP changes or updates things need to be changed, and by things i mean you better know what you are doing. PHP has changed a whole lot since Micah first made this site.... So the site needs a rebuild or a Team of programmers working alot ( basically a partial rebuild, but the worst kind of way, when you change everything inside a project instead of starting fresh, you usually waste time and get a broken site)

Also Micah made this code because he wanted to make it, if you code something you do not care about, it makes coding tediously unbearable and end result usually sucks. Also this code is Graphs and Math out the ass, i would hate to code this site unless it was my passion, the paths and controllers meaning algorithms are insane with all the arrays, forms and graphs, F-that... Let me be clear i am a below average programmer...

Zero Chances i am betting Swellinfo is the surf forecasting site of tomorrow..
