    Hi Everyone,

I'm pretty sure I may have figured out the issue with the forecast. So to give you the timeline - Swell Info site was sold by Micah (it's creator) to Carbon Media Group in 2014. Micah came back to help the site out due to issues in 2017. In Apr of 2018 Carbon Media Group was acquired by a company Vertical Scope. Vertical Scope subsequently went belly up at some point later in the year and was gobbled up by a larger Canadian company Torstar.

Swell Info is basically one of a sh*t ton of brands within three layers of Russian Nesting Doll style media conglomerates. There's also been zero social media activity from Swell Info since February and Micah moved on to start a new company at the beginning of June. All of this info combined makes me think that we're sitting on a rudderless ghost ship, drifting in the tides...

Hi, I can't see the forecast for the next couple days. Anyone else having issues? Seeing the problem in both fire fox and chrome.

As far as the forecast, it is this:
    From:

    Post
I have a theory.. What if the National Weather Service (or some other data service) changed the API (Applications Programming Interface) to their weather models and data, and SI has not updated its software?

I saw some changes announced on here:
    https://www.weather.gov/notification/
    Some such as
Regardless.. someone is asleep at the switch, and needs to update the code to ingest the new format.

    And moreover ..

Digging further into the product service bulletin SCN19-40, which went into effect June 12(https://www.weather.gov/media/notification/scn19-40gfs_v15_1.pdf), I noticed the following text, which in summary is implying a change to the directory (folder) structure and file naming convention of the data products, which would require end-users to update their software that retrieves and uses the data:
    ….
    2) Changes to Product Output on Web Services
With this upgrade the following changes occur on either the NCEP web services:https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/
Or on the NWS Web services:https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/
    A) Changes to directory structures on the NCEP Web services
    - blah blah blah… I'll spare you the gibberish and geekery .. the swell code maintainers can look at referenced bulletin
    B) Changes to the Output File Names on the NCEP Web Services
    - blah blah blah… Again, I'll spare you the gibberish and geekery .. ..

I have more advise for SI, but at this point the pro bono ends

I was thinking along similar lines in regard to the API piece. It would also explain why it would've suddenly stopped... I just wonder how long no one's been at the helm here.
