Do you guys have surf friends? I 've never really had a surf friend, so I just surf by myself. Should I get surf friends? I don't really have friends to begin with, since I don't like people. What are your thoughts and recommendations? Thank you in advance. Your friend, SandAss
I surf alone, yeah With nobody else I surf alone, yeah With nobody else Yeah, you know when I surf alone I prefer to be by myself Now every dawn patrol just before breakfast I don't want no coffee or tea Just me and good buddy Firewire That's all I ever need 'Cause I surf alone, yeah With nobody else Yeah, you know when I surf alone I prefer to be by myself Yeah, the other night I laid sleeping And I woke from a terrible dream So I caught up my pal Al Merrick And his partner Bob McTavish And we surfed alone, yeah With nobody else Yeah, you know when I surf alone I prefer to be by myself
we are all your friends ... except for me and Barry. Other than that i suggest you stay as you are, friends are overrated
Everybody has a place or 2. Just dont see a groove over at mistake. Not saying its good or bad. I hear they have a great forecasting site...just like hear
Maybe there is a reason? Do you smell bad? Are you annoying? Do you have trouble sharing? Did someone throw your beach stuff in the water? Either way, I suggest you move to Belmar, NJ. They are very friendly plus waves can get 23ft.
I do smell, it is a constant problem. I was hoping to make some surf friends with bad allergies, so as their nasal passages are usually clogged. I go to Bar A all the time and ask the girls there to go surfing with me, for some reason they don't seem that into it. Maybe the D'Jais girls will be more into it since it's closer to the ocean? Haha in all seriousness tho my name is on the Belmar boardwalk, I donated after the storm, feel kinda stupid now. ha ha ha.
Bar A? D'Jais? That's so '90s. Go to Sea Bright and hit Donavan's for some buckets. Chicks there love surfers.
The older I get the fewer familiar faces I see in the lineup. I suppose if I gave up and switched full time to a longboard and surf with that crowd I'd see more familiar faces but I'll stick to a shortboard for as long as I can.
I actually have a several longboards. I've just never really enjoyed riding a longboard very much. I've never been able to get very excited to drag one out of the house, lug it to the water and ride it. To me its like going from driving a Formula 1 car to driving a Prius.
I ride everything... from a mini simmons, to a fish, to a shortboard, to a gun, to a log. I think they're all fun in the right conditions. The challenge to riding a longboard for me is doing it with style... and NOSERIDES! It's all about the noserides...
Yea growing up riding SBs, we hated LBs lol. In my 20s and 30s I opened my eyes to riding all kinds of boards. I too lack true LB style but I really enjoy riding them. I recently sold a tanker (heavy 9’6) for a shorter lighter LB like I had before. I tend to still ride them with a SB mentality which creates my own LB style...riding knee high waves on a SB is not fun for me anymore...
