Surf Forecasts on Demand?

potential for waves next week on the birthday. sweet. we're getting the at home lockdown in effect tomorrow. Still the beach access is closed to only folly residents, which i am, doubt they'll give a big sht about we walking around with a surfboard here n there. just glad there's hope for some waves; def gonna need dat. felt like this thread was appropriate for my well being

Poor programming. When the campaigns are designed, they didn't take the time to setup proper redirects using the well known URLs for the site. Instead, they are using the tracker URLs in the campaign code. They do this so they can get metrics on which campaigns work and which ones don't. They track Opens, Clicks, etc. It may be legit, but it's poorly executed.

 

I'm pretty sure Micah hasnt been involved with Swell info for years now.

 

Wow, that is pretty cool. I grew up on the Southeast side, a couple miles from the lakefront, swam, played, partied, fought, ect.. all along Calumet Park. When I got out of the military I heard about a "surf club" based out of Whiting Indiana. At this point I was well on my kooky way at being a wave slider, and thought it was a joke. No waves on the lake. They had a party at a local marina where my buddy had a boat docked but I didn't stop over. I should have.
Anyhow, I know lake surfing is finicky, a not so great day here can be a great day there, ect.. but have obsessed enough and watched enough videos to know that, with the right conditions, they can get the goods. A lot of the more popular lake spots get a lot of attention on the vids, like Whiting for example, but I have a childhood spot along a pier where we fished for smelt,that I know can work and hasn't been surfed. One side of the pier has a horeshoe shaped sand beach, and open lake waters in front. The area is sketchy and you wouldn.t drive there unless you knew the area, but it might be my only chance to surf an unsurfed wave for the first time and maybe name it. Hell, in my old stomping grounds, it would be my biggest accomplishment as a surfer.

Pretty much the 3 biggest lakes have enough fetch to create decent surf along the shores of Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Not near enough fetch for lakes Ontario and Erie, although I've read that Ontario is occasionally surfed in Canada as well as NY

 

I saw a video once of these guys from PA who surfed, I want to say Superior, in the morning, then the jersey shore in the afternoon. I thought that was pretty damn cool, they scored small fun surf in both spots

 

Like when Mike Stewart surfed one swell in four different locations. I think he started in Tahiti and then caught it in Hawaii, NorCal and then Alaska.
