God I remember when I joined here and 13 and reading all the lingo. I thought everybody had lost their mind and I would never catch on.

You are very close! Sand recon was actually born just shortly before that thread and I suspect this was the straw that broke old frosty's back. I went back to look and his post was deleted - but within that thread it's quoted what I believe to be the first instance of the highly technical skill of sand recon or - sand reconne if you will.

But holy smokes the "might as well come clean" thread was amazing - it was just so hard for me to wrap my head around and was probably one of the funniest things I've ever experienced.

Dont want to spread hate. Just addressing what happened. The site was badly misrun. I hope it continues to grow again and becomes something I visit regularly once more. Appreciate the kind words by the way, for real.

 

I 'member when there would be like four or five threads on fire, one can bounce between them and they would growing in real time.

I pulled the trigger. I figured at 10 bucks a year, it's not going to kill me and I'm sure that it will help with building the site. Angel investor contribution.

I love this, I check in after years and the first post I see is this site is trash. The exact reason I left!

It was Great until that ClownFace destroyed the whole Site single handedly.
I can't use this site anymore because it sucks so bad that it almost made me miss swell because of Horrible Forecasts.
So i left and never came back
