LOL, can anyone tell I'm a Doug Sahm fan?? The guy is a true legend, his music goes way back, all styles, just an incredible catalog of music, and a hero and inspiration to many musicians.
Also love this last clip because it's from ABC's 80's spinoff to Saturday Night Live called Fridays. Actually had some great comedians and skits, and amazing musical guests, devo, Jim Carrol band, Tom Petty, just to name a few, and of course the above video, Doug sounds as much New York as Texas in this one

So I just got an alert that Robby Krieger is playing with Vanilla Fudge at a small theater on my island. i almost threw my money right at it. but said to myself who the heck is Vanilla Fudge? listened to few classics said yeah maybe. Then found some more current live stuff While I respect the heck out of em to keep rocking out. I just can't stop picturing this

The Ramones loved surf music. You can tell, especially the earlier stuff.

I don't think so... just like surf music, and that influenced a lot of their songs.

A good friend of mine one day shows up with this t shirt and says " check it out I had to buy it its joey at rockaway Beach about to paddle out. Street dude on St Marks gave me it for 20 bucks.

It was a black & white pic of a skinny kid with a Howard Stern wig carrying a 90's thruster with a Hurley sticker on it. With the lyrics to Rockaway Beach on it.
