I know a local girl who just got her masters in marine biology, gets her first job in her field working for the government, and it's in Colorado. Go figure.

This Henri coming up the coast might actually hit on Sunday, models always change though. Full Moon and a late high tide is going to make this interesting.

Forecast keeps looking like a direct hit. Maybe it will pull away......

98L looks to be the one to keep an eye on. 97L above looks like a minor swell generator for the east coast in a few days maybe. 98L could come in low and strong if it gets trapped under the Bermuda high and may run up north a bit off the coast kicking back some real surf.

Fully loaded we got snacks and supplies. Ready for Road Trippin' brahs!!!

This set up for 9-3 looks ominous.

She would make landfall about 1.5-2 weeks later which is right on time. Mid-September is peak hurricane anxiety for the SE.

When the last time y'all started your gene? Start preparing now before all the barneys buy up all the TP and gas cans.

Headed for Surfside Texas. Looks like Ida is gonna produce offshores and 5 ft at 14 s. Should line up like Cristobal did last year. Got a bud that lives right there so the invite was granted and accepted.

My call is no. Usually a "storm" strength cyclone outside of Bermuda does little for us in NJ. It would take a stronger storm, or a much larger storm with a bigger wind field, to produce enough fetch for us to see much. If we see anything it will be a small scale pulse.

HaD a fun weekend in Surfside.
Tons of jellies in the ocean.
It was breaking almost a half mile out about shoulder to hh.
So many nice people in the area and some good dudes in the water.
I'm no fan of sups but there was one guy who looked like Tarzan who was just amazing and another guy in a surf yak who was awesome.

I got plenty of waves and stayed out for 4 hours Saturday and 4 Sunday. Got an early session this a.m about waist high.

Jumped on a plane and here I am at home .
My buddy was the best host. He's got connection s in the restaurant biz there so we ate like pigs.

So nice to read your stories and see the awesome pics you guys post.

Nice!! Glad you scored. Always wanted to surf in the gulf.

    I don't mind a sup'er or a yak'er if they know how to respectfully navigate a lineup.

Exactly. The locals at my home break on SUPs were not only gentleman and gracious but often they’d yip to wake us up about a wave coming that the height of standing on the board gave them a good perspective.

or at least the last I surfed on Jan 1 2020…since then I heard South Floridian surfers discovered the break and have overrun it— such a shame.

when I return to surfing will have to put them in their place :)

My daughter's name is Katie. I already thanked her in advance for staying way the hell offshore. We may get a LB wave with clean conditions if we are lucky. If not, I have plenty of snacks and supplies for a fun weekend regardless. Better than a direct hit.

    Larry's building momentum.

Not sure about you guys but I can't remember many TSs that were named while they were still off the coast of Africa.
