So check it out this past spring my company calls for an emergency meeting.Bottom line was they screwed most of us and I would of taken a $20,000 pay cut.So I get another job in August.Thursday we had an urgent conference call.We were all told we would be terminated in May.Bottom line is if your boss says we have to call a quick meeting just dont go.lol
dude that sucks. have fun trying to find a new place to work and enjoy all that surfing. i know im working like 4 weeks from last week of june to 3rd week of july at some church camp and my parents are paying for my insurance for a whole year and i just pay for gas. which will leave me the whole school year to surf after school.
So your getting laid off in May???? So you can collect unempployment all summer and surf and work at someplace uner the table as well I would take the 3 month vaction but hey thats just me
Yea ,they told us Thursday morning May 3rd will be it.I can see it happening earlier thou.Going to Bermuda in April and coming back for 2 weeks and that will be it.At least the water will be around 60 by then.
When I first got out of highschool My dad got me a job with him working in the boat yard at the Cape May Lewis Ferry as a vessle Maintence Tech. It was a kool job but not year round I would get laid off after Labor day and then called back in March . Its was kool to have Sept- Feb off to surf. Hours were kool to 6 am to 2pm
yea , forget even looking for a job there are none out there. I heard you can't even get a job at Home Depot today. They get to choose from laid off college graduates. I read when Wegmanns opened up, there were 400 new positions created with 6500 applicants. See what were up against? So yea just surf and live cheaply...bring down that overhead.
Hey I said if it was me I would collect and work someplace under the table if it was me I didnt bash the guy . Sucks he's getting let go more so with our current economy
let me start with saying, drug testing should be mandatory for unemployemnt(coke,meth,tweaker stuff, not pot) anywho... youre a doucher because if you CAN get work then you shouldnt collect unemployment because your STEALING money. STEALING=DOUCHER MATERIAL i better not get banned for being right when your wrong and screwed up too.
actually you are not stealing. it's your money that you pay into the insurance fund. Having said that, I would start looking NOW. In this economy the sooner you start the better.
Hey Its not really stealing if you make less than a certain amount a year you dont have to have taxes taken out of it . That why you see alot of places on the boardwalk in the summer paying kids under the table . Beside the face the 7 bucks a hour with taxes taken out is probally 5 buck . Those types of buisnesses are only open for 3 months outa the year and pay pretty bad ( game boths, Arcades, resturants.Ect) soon as labor day comes they shut down and go back to whatever town they are from till summer rolls around agian. Yeah I agree with drug testing be mandatory for unemployment . If you have to drug test to get a job . you should be drug free while you are looking for a new job.
I hear ya man,Just had an offer today but im really not too interested.I am in talks with another company.I think I have a great shot of getting this one job but it might take a couple months.I do have until May thou.
Kool hope it all works out for ya . We have all been in you situation at one time or another . It sucks I know even more so now with the economy down the crapper
