I'm looking to buy a used paddleboard, something big as I'm going to try to paddle across from Jersey to Delaware this summer.
If you know of anybody, please let me know.
I'm turning 40 this year, so I guess it'll be to commemorate.
    Thanks...

    Try this ...http://www.usla.org/forum/default.asp?b=2

It's a lifeguard forum for buying selling equipment..www.usla.org

Long distance paddling is awesome..I once paddled from Indian River Inlet(southside) DE.
to Ocean City Inlet Md.. Had a light NE wind took me- 8hrs.and 45 mins.

    Thanks, I'll check it out.
And your paddle, damn that's a long time to be paddling, it looks like from Jersey to Delaware is a bit more than half of what you did, so I hope it takes me a bit more than half as well.

Aquiles, As you know, there is a ton of tidal current running in and out of the DE bay mouth. Factor it in Boss.

Yes, I know, for that I have my father in law to plan the trip, he's an avid fisherman and in his boat he has all kinds of bells and whistles and he has agreed to lead the way on his boat.
Problably august, also, Derrick from Liquid said he'll do it too, we'll see if anybody else want to do it.
Remember a couple of years ago, the dude from "the firm" gym swam across, I think it took him like 8 or 9 hrs, that's hardcore!
With the the help of the board, I'm sure it won't be as excrutiating.

    surftech

go to www.surftech.com and check out what they have. they have lifeguard comp boards and distance paddle boards. if you are planning on paddling the debay, get a 14'-17' paddle board. there are no good shapers for paddle boards around here, so save up and make the order. paddle board concepts differ from different styles. i compete in the surf line so I go with lifeguards boards (10'6" super thick, juicy and tipsy!). distance paddlers use designs that come from boat hauls. if you are turning 40, suck it up and charge it. charge the paddle. charge the visa!
