Where I park is still free. I'm sure there are closer spots, but I don't mind a little strole. You gotta walk a damn mile anyway. As long as they don't turn trestles into a highway I am fine with that. Make the touristas pay a fee. Or take a walk like the rest of us. Thats why most kids ride by you on a bike or a skate baord with their boards under their arms. We are all cruising from wherever the hell in BF egypt we parked.

You walk? Screw that...did that too many times.....Now I skate.....Just sucks walking back up. Anyway, I can't believe they are gonna start to charge...$15 bucks HOLY COW. I assume you can still park alone the road though and up the hill. My legs always start to burn when I take that trip. Btw....don't you live in Ocean beach? That's roughly an hour drive to Lowers. Either way...I take the hour trip too. The last time I was there was during the Hurley Pro...I took that drive everyday from Oceanside. Well worth the drive IMO.

Yeah, I live in OB. The only time I ever go to lowers is when I am already travelling up North. The fiance and I go up to SB a lot to wine country for a couple days, so I always stop by lowers and bring the video cam etc and get a session in there.... Its a great wave, but i would NEVER pass the 60 other good spots on the way up just to go to lowers... I think blacks is a much better wave, at that is a 10 minute drive from me... I know people argue that opinion all the time, but that is just me. I like a more powerful heaving lip with a few air sections, than a glorified skate ramp of a wave that never gets hollow....

Super fun, but like I said, I only surf there when im passing through. Honestly, the OB pier usually has better swell and more power than trestles unless its a good SW swell.
