Do you guys care if Lebron comes to the NJ Nets with the new Russian owner or NY Knicks with all the salary cap they have? Or would you want him to stay in Cleveland/play somewhere else? Just wondering on opinions of what you thin he'll do/what's best for him.../will he improve the team he goes to...
Im not a fan, so I hope he goes to NY so he will never win a championship. I think he will stay in Cleveland though. He wont go to Chicago because of Jordan. He wont come out west because of Kobe. Its gonna be Cleveland, but the knicks are the only other fit for him. The nets wont get him I dont think. Jayz owns like 1% of the team, so he really has no say even though they are friends... But arent the Nets going back to Brooklyn in a few years? Maybe if that happened.... But I guess my point is, even with the crazy salaries, I dont think NY can put together any better of a team than cleveland can. If cleveland adds one guy, then its just the same as going to NY and getting Lebron, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.... Just move one of the to cleveland and they will be ready to compete. But like I said, I dont like lebrons attitude. I dont like that he crowned himself a king when he was an 18 year old, and 8 years later, he has no rings on his fingers... He is not the first "Next Jordan" to be... I feel bad on the one hand, but he buys into his own hype... He even makes me like Kobe more. And kobe isnt the classiest of guys.
i gotta say he shouldnt be crowned king james until he wins a few rings. but he has no good attitude and he sucks trully here he is having the best winning season in the nba and loses in the 2nd round of the playoffs, and he is back to back mvp shouldnt he have won a few rings by now?
James is the best player in the nba and I hope he goes to the knicks, but i think he will stay with the cavs. Any team that ends up getting him will immediately become a title contender even though he has not won a title yet. I think it's a matter of time before they put some talent around him and then it will all click together.
Please, if he was going to pick a real team he'd go to the team just north of Washington. They're actually good.
I don't think it matters who the Knicks get... they will never be better to watch than when Ewing and Starks were playing.
well the Redskins just got Mcnabb so that's gotta count for something. IMagine Lebron and Mcnabb together, i think theyd be pretty damn good
The day that Michael Jordan laced up his Nikes with a Washington Wizards jersey on. That was basically the end of Jordan, and then end of numerous eras of basketball with classy athletes and a nice group of guys that the youth of America can look up to. Its a shame in all sports, that the charm has been lost. The almighty dollar took over and there is no honest or character in Pro sports... All guys ever talk about is $$$. Contract this. Contract that... I mean, did you ever hear Jordan talk about leaving Chicago? The New York Yankees now have a 200 Million dollar payroll, and in the same division, are the Baltimore Orioles who have a $36 million dollar payroll. The redsox also have upwards of $150 million... All people care about is money. In baseball, MONEY wins championships. Not players. Not coaches. Its no coincidence that the same teams are spending a Quarter BILLION per year on their payroll and winning rings... Baseball is gone forever. Basketball is down the drain too with Free Agency... Basketball in the future == MONEY BUYS RINGS.... Boston went out and spent ASKLJALSJDKLJ$%$$$$$$ of dollars to score Ray Allen and Kevin Garnet to match up with Paul Peirce and what happens. They win a ring that year... Sports are no longer about your home team. Or the city that treats you like a god. Or HOnor and commitment. People follow money every time. Lebron is no different.... In baseball the guy that killed it for me is Mark Texiera. He was Born and rasied in the Baltimore Suburbs.. He went to Memorial Stadium and Camden yards his whole life.... And the Orioles offered him like $120 million. The Yanks offered him $130 million. Texiera went to the Yankees, said that all he cared about was the money. And then slapped his home town in the face and said he always wanted to be a yankee. And that he secretly rooted for the yanks his whole life... TOOL!!!!! Rather than being a local celebrity and giving back to the community that made you what you are, these chumps just follow the money.... The only cool thing in sports that happened recently is this: Two years ago, in order to secure Antawn Jameson, His friend and Co-Worker. Gilbert Arenas removed 20 MILLION from his own bloated contract and told the wizards that they could give that money to Jameson to keep him on the team.... When asked about this, Gilbert Arenas responded "What can I buy with $130 Million dollars, that I cannot buy with $110 Million".... Very good question indeed. I mean, is there that big of a difference between making 88MILLION in New York, or 82 million in Baltimore... Not really... Damn shame.
oh please.... Baseball is gone forever. Basketball is down the drain too with Free Agency... Ever since Andy Messersmith & Catfish Hunter signed huge contracts, it's been a wahhhhhhh-fest about how the baseball 'game' is ruined by money. It's a BIDNESS, baby, and always has been. And the bidness is entertainment. The guys who took the PED's get this. Ask Brady Anderson or anyo f the others in the 1980's who took the PED's in the 1980's, 1990's & this century, too, just to sign huge contracts & get their piece of the American entertainment pie. That's it; that's all it ever was. Same for hoops. Same for every sport. It's a BIDNESS. The game you played in your backyard with the other kiddies in the hood doesn't translate. Anyone who's ever played at the pro or top-collegiate level would tell you the same.
I am with you man. I understand how it works. But it doesn't make it right. These sports were never intended to be setup that way. That is why they are disucssing dismantling the AL EAST so that there can be some fair play.... I mean, at least basketball is somewhat fair. The largest markets in the US (NYC) havent been able to put together a competetive basketball team in decades.... Baseball is different. IT WASNT SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY.... Baseball is no longer america's past time... Its a "BIDNESS". Exactly... Sports are no longer "Sports"... They are "Bidness" which is why they have been ruined. I know its all about money. And you may not consider Towson "Upper Tier Collegiate Atheletics" but I played division 1 there and understand how all of our atheltic programs kept the school afloat because we generated revenue.... And if you don't mind how the system works, then have fun watching the lakers win 8 our of 10 championships in the next decade with maybe Boston winning the other two... And then have fun watching the Yankees win like 7 out of 10 championships... It is what it is, I know.... But I always prefered a honest basketball or baseball league to "Bidness" any day of the week. Labron will make money anywhere he goes. These atheletes dont even rely on their paychecks from playing ball anymore. Everyone knows the money is in the endorsements... So, at least Lebron is willing to go where ever he thinks he may win, since the money is all the same... Thats why Jordan was Jordan. He is basketball. He made some much fu**ing loot on the side, with Nike and Gatorade, He may as well played basketball for free in Chicago... The man didnt need 150 million. He needs rings... Something Lebron does get... its not about money. its not about hype. Its about competition. And when you have too much money involved, competetition is pushed to the side... I agree with you, but who cares. From your nick name, I am assuming you are reading this while living in the largest sports market in America. So its easy for you to say all these things about business. Cause you are reaping the benefits. I am talking about the other 97% of the country, who will hopelessly cheer for their Kansas City Royals, or their Cincinatti Reds.... Its about the whoe country... Thats like me saying, sh**, I dont know why you guys are complaining its flat. I live in SD where its chest+ every day!!!!! Its easy to say that when you are not on the recieving end of the bad sh**
