    From the Coastal Edge website:

"I would also like to thank Ronnie Sibony, ( Yaron Sibony one of the owners of Sunsations ), my friend and partner...

    D. ( Deepak) Nachnani

Make up your own mind of who to support in OC, those locally owned shops over the years that have supported us or these guys...

    AGREED

zach619 : "mass produced materials cost less and are in a much higher demand."

Basic economics.... if it's in higher demand, the cost is typically higher respectively.

How many Sunsations do you see all over OC & DelMarVa. 10 times more minimum than any other business & I have seen or heard little if any of them involved or providing community support where it wasn't a benefit to them.

You do however hear about K-Coast, Chauncey's, etc though doing what they can & being involved. The little guys (local surf shops) have been for years giving back to the local surfers & communities. They started out small & gained the locals trust through the years, not drop a box surf shop with T-shirts, stickers, sun tan lotion & surfboard decorations.

Stick with the local surf shops & let the tourists support the hermit crab zoo & T-shirt factories.

There are currently 7 Coastal Edge surf shops in VB. Think about that!!!!! How could you possibly need or want 7 of the same surf shops in such a small area? Coastal Edge is just another T-Shirt shop, we have a few 100 too many already. No Thanks!!!!!

    Hilarious.

F&CK the coastal edge. We got enough.

Also, for the OCMD crowd, don't forget Ocean Atlantic... IMO the best little spot around. Go see Doc and he'll set you up...

Doc is the man. I got a 5'10 Heritage twin fin from him years ago. These are the real shops that deserve our support. Doc is backed by Doc not some hermit crab seller with deep pockets.

Just another shop that pushes tons of Chinese-built boards and other cheapo gear. Like we need another shop with super cheapo boards.

There is an advantage to having Coastal Edge there

The one here in VB and the one in Kill Devil HIills (KDH) has a huge selection of Channel Island boards and Lost. These two pbrands typically are on the cutting edge (wheter they copy soemones design or come up with it themselves (search stuff about WHite diamopnd/Dumpster Diver) their board line up is wide and usually very cool board designs. I went thru tons of boards seeing what i lilked and didnt like in board outlines, widths, thicknesses, where all the foam was, etc. on some of the more popular models. I then called Tommy Moore and ordered two boards. Also if the small shops dont have what ya want, and you need it immediately, the big stores typically have a lot to choose from so... I persoanlly buy my hardgoods, board shorts, suits, day board bags etc fomr WRV or OBBC, but its not that Coastal edge is a comecialized juggernaut its just because i have always shoped at WRV, and Lynn Shell is an OBX icon and a ripper so....
