    National Security TRUMPS all....

so sad that grown men would sacrifice their nations security, (and their own families future security),.. to make a buck, get a vote, or provide cover and misguided rational for those who break the law and have their same SKin Color.

Ponder this.............I work with two Domincans, and a Puerto Escondioian...(didn't want to say Mexican). The three of them have been working here for 10 years, are here legally. They have a nice benefit package and a legit 401(k).......plus 11 personal days, 2 weeks+ vacation time, and generous raises, (given the economic situation is up to par)........

.......they did whats right........came here with a dream, and took the steps to follow it through......

Plenty of people fit that description that originally came to the USA illegally. Once here they eventually obtained a Green Card, maybe married an American, possibly joined the military or somehow became sponsored. Now they have been legit tax paying residents for 10+ years. That is what most want. However, the system to provide temporary and long-term work permits has been broken for a long time. Nothing like when the doors were wide open for prior generations of immigrants --- all you had to do was show up. The irony of it is that those immigrants from prior generations were described, labeled, denigrated and despised the same way the current wave of immigrants are today.

    Sun,

All of what you said is fine, THATS HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK.
But its the way you said it.
You make it sound like even if they do it the right way ,they are still not wanted.
Just because they where not born here. Like the bad acts of others reflects on them.
I have seen no one on here saying that. You speak as you wish. This is America, you can do that.
Just don't add to the problem by trying to hard to help.

The Illegals need to return to "What ever country" they came from and apply the right way.
Yes it will take them a along time and some that are here will never be allowed back. (Many reasons).
But many will come back and they will be paying their fair share (Taxes).
And they should be let back in on a per job placement only, not just wandering around looking for a job.
Do that and we're right back where we started. The job ends they collect U.E. like every body else.
But only for what they put in, like every body else. U.E. runs out, no job back to where ever. Start over.

For those who do not return to their own country they should never be allowed to be citizens of this country, ever. American born kids stay here. They can stay with legal family. Please no what ifs.

First things first, if you employ an Illegal the fine should be what? $10,000 per day worked.

The illegal gos to jail and does not get out but gos back to where ever at the expense of the Co. he was working for with in the week he/she was caught in.

No give me programs of ANY KIND.
No green card, you get nothing.
No citizenship for kids born here to Illegals EVER. No path to citizenship for ANY REASON.
If foung guilty of a crime they should be sentenced as if it was their second offence.
If you sell or rent a house, apt etc,etc the fine should be 3 years rent per year rented or 1/2 of the selling price of the house.
The banks have 30 days to find out legal or Illegal. If Illegal all monies in the account goes to the State.
The bank shall pay 5x that amount in fines if they do not report the Illegal account after 30 days.
The same for Gas, water, elect Co. $1000 a month fine per customer after 30 days.
You sell a car to an Illegal, new used what ever. The car gets crushed you owe whatever you sold it for to the State.
All money transfers out side of the U.S. with out a known legal sender 30% tax on the spot,
    the money to the State.

The idea is to shut off Disneyland to the Illegals.
Who goes to a fun park with no rides?
Not one of the above things will hurt a honest U.S. citizen or Company or some one here legal.

Do you realize that ther are more Illegals in the U.S. now than the combined troop strength of
both Germany and Japan during World War 2.
Yes you have been invaded and your losing.......Rob

    simple as pie....hahhaahah

    1. they do rely on it as a way to reduce labor costs, especially in agriculture...anyone who sees themselves as a progressive who doesn't want immigration control knows nothing about the impact of illegals on the wages for the rest of us who have to live here and live on what we make.

    2. from 1942 through the 60's the bracero program was instituted in the southwest (esp california ) because there was not only not enough labor to pick the crops on time, there wasn't enough SKILLED labor to do it without ruining the crop. even now the farmers rely on these migrant workers, some legal, some not, and get around the legal issues by going through a broker/foreman, who is legal, who is the buffer...if illegals are discovered, the owner claims ignorance, as he also does when asked about working conditions and wages, which are up to the broker to negotiate. as for the gonad question, that communist/socialist/fascist obama reversed bush's last-minute rules changes that reduced wages and relaxed working condition requirements that that other socialist/commie bastard ronald reagan set up in 1987....bleedin hearts!!! what's a little e coli in the salad? anyway, the guarantee of a living wage is questionable, depending on the crop and the conditions. take a trip out to the imperial valley or the san joaquin (golden state) and talk to someone who actually works there, farmer and worker alike.

    3. while i never made mention of the last thing, i agree...enforce the laws, but like the drug issue, as long as there are clients, there will be a supply....

now where'd i put that spliff?

as you stated, they DO rely on the labor to compete,...and you supported my point...the law is not enforced on dealers---er businessmen who supply the jobs

I didn't pass bad info, I said I can't imagine. And just because its possible doesn't mean its common. The type of illegals who's presence harms this country are generally not the people who have the means to buy a house so the issue is moot.

I make it sound like they came here wanting to be legal American citizens, live a more than decent lifestyle, give back and contribute to the local community (through volunteering)....they work hard, learn whatever you teach them and took classes to speak pretty damn good english............

I'd say they are "wanted" here, and I'm not adding to the problem..............unlike the greedy guys who WILL pick up three guys on the corner, pay them what ever low ball dollar they ask for, just so they can get cheap labor, and not have to work about any ties, so they make more in their pockets.

bottom line is, the "system" has slipped..........we can all prove points on here, but until we all voice ourselves to governments.......the problem will persist

give it a few years, who knows, maybe the countries they are coming from might be prime real-estate.......

Actually, I was born and bred SD and lived in California (not "Cali") for 30 years.

And, part of my job for many years was dealing with laborers and farmers.

I'm also well aware of the "Bracero" program...a very good and successful program, very similar to the "Guest Worker Program" that is being discussed as we speak. The biggest problems with the Bracero program was 1) the workers complained of not getting paid the backwages they were promised, and 2) the Braceros were supposed to return to Mexico...and of course, many didn't. Big surprise...

Your thoughts and opinions are obviously well-reasoned.

    Can't buy.

    Fair enough after clarification.
In some of the countries that these people come from Non- Citizens of that country
can not buy property or if they can its for 20 years at a time.
Mexico for one, last time I checked.11 years ago.
And that does not mean you get to auto rebuy that property.
If a citizens of that country wants it your out......Rob

    thanks kid...

thanks kidrock....i was an ag major and we spent a lot of time with both sides of the labor issue, and the issues on both sides are far more complex than most understand. we need a workable solution for all concerned...
