    to clarify:

I completely agree- the body boards on the north end and clearly the ones that know what they are doing are not bad. It's the ones that are just in the way that annoy me (not saying all of them but mostly tourists).

<rant> Could be, as previously said, the lack of good waves getting to me. </rant>

Got to head down to NC to dodge the hate, if you sponge! Anytime i paddle out in the line up anywhere in vb, its like a war zone. You have giant packs of kook a$$ summer warriors out socializing. I have been dropped in on countless time by ignorant kooks over the years, who don't look before they drop. This is extremely reckless and could paralyze or cause injury. 3 months and counting before some breathing room in the line up. Any ways i have been a Long time lurker but had to make a name when i seen pics of me posted. Whats up Glass Jaw? Hit me up im rolling you way to play discgolf

Va Beach not surf friendly !!

Va beach is basically the mouth of the Chesapeake bay. Waves stink, no power, life guards suck. Whinney so called locals try to rule the jetty and get stoked on knee high beach break. I remember one time hearing some jetty locals getting all excited over some waist high crappy waves. They were all excited cause it was waist high with a little barrel right up on the shore. I always laugh when I remember that. It sucks that this site lists va beach and obx together as a location when you have to fill out your membership profile. If you want a great waves and a great real beach experience then drive the easy two hours south to OBX. I almost didnt become a member of this site becaus I didnt want to have to associate myself with VAAAHHHBEEACH.

If you want to see the real kook show, go to first street at like 8am and look for the SUP's (iv done it, so i can fairly knock it) with their hats and hoodies and crap. They catch a 1 footer on a sand bar and come back claiming chest high. soooo sick of it. Thats all good and such, but you can only have but so much fun on a 5" thick board when its actually on.

I also love seeing all of the surfrider plates on lifted 350's and suburbans. Its so hypocritical. i roll 38mpg in the gti baby.

The only thing i love about VB is all of the sexy milfs!! i hope my education pays off one day and i can snag a porn bomb when im in my sixties too.

VA Beach surfers really disregard the rules. I hate it, seriously where I come from surfing you respect the inside guy and the deepest. Too many people are hostile and snake waves from you. OBX is fun, endless miles of beach when there is good swell.

Can't complain too much though finally getting a decent swell!

I surfed around 70th all day today with some pretty cool folks. I only mention it because I want to emphasize that I'm not hating on the real surfers in VA Beach. You guys rock. Speaking of rocking, how 'bout them waves yesterday, so much fun! I had a freaking blast out there, hope y'all did as well.

Bodyboarding is easy as ****. Throw a person on a bodyboard and a person on a surfboard and see which one picks it up the fastest. And you don't paddle faster, you kick faster with your fins.

I too noticed this the past weekend especially. I never realized they hit up the beach and dink wine etc. Their husbands dont seem to care if you check them out either (wise old man, or hes looking for a way to divorce her)

Anyway, surf was fun this weekend. I have military access, so I hit up Dam Neck, nice to surf with only a few guys out. I don't think I'll ever go back to Croatanfor the rest of summer. Ive never surfed first street, but it looks to be kooked out as well, with geezer longboarders who "try" to regulate

You're no doubt one of the guys who would be furious when I'm in the line up. I can't change that, but I don't respect it either.

It's irrelevant how I paddle, the point is I'm not in the way anymore than another surfer in the line up. Before you pour a glass of haterade next time, you should fully understand the context of the conversation you jumped into.

I know surfing is harder to learn. I never once said it wasn't. The average surfer is terrible though. The ratio of ****ty surfers to good surfers is more than the ratio of ****ty body boarders to good body boarders. That probably has something to do with the learning curve, I agree with you. But that was exactly my point. We aren't in the way, and saying we were was flat out wrong. The guy who said it even apologized and clarified what he meant because he knows the body boaders are decent wave riders.

Like I said before, context is everything. I have a feeling though that you already had your mind made up about body boarding, and I doubt I'll change that.
