Predictions on Crowds in the Water

I'm not saying your wrong or challenging the science about sand shifting. I'm saying it's not the number one reason why waves are so much bigger. Can I be any more clear? Oh and the sand shifting is cause by a change in prevailing winds and the nor'easters/ Sw flow in the summer replaced by a northeast flow. Without those northeaster's you aint got no big waves in winter.

 

I agree the waves are typically bigger in the winter. However, to get back on topic, what I said was that the waves are also, on average, steeper in the winter. This is due mostly to the reshaping of the bottom contours by the typically stronger winter storms.

You were very abrasive to winter surfers early on in your posting career. It's nice to see that the logic is finally penetrating, and you have backed off some. Of course winter surfers are always going to call you a kook, that is like a inside joke for us. The whole feeling in the lineup is different in the wintertime, way more comradery, way more respect. So we all can relate to that during the winter months, and many of us here being winter surfers, also joke about it during the summer months when crowds increase exponentially with the temperature.

You might not be a kook, you might shred dude, I don't know. But if you associate yourself with the summer warrior, expect to be humiliated with them as well. It's nothing that shouldn't bounce right off anyways.

After another trip this Oct. I do plan on being in the Narragansett area sometime in early Nov. to get up with some skate buddies. We'll meet up then if you are allowed out of your basement.

 

crowds pose no problem here or in hatteras,unless you go to the pier,inlet,jenks or the jetties in hatteras

Yeah but what I am saying is that you dont have to move to a place that has better surf like Hawaii. Yes not every place is crowded but if everyone on the eastcoast who surfed did it would be. So why should I move and crowd up some other break ?

Not all of us can blow off work or school .

exactly just like living in the tropics or hawaii or the west coast has a certain ora about it so does the eastcoast. Its nice to visit these places but the NJ will always be my home

Wetsuits 500 dollars Not all of them my friend yeah you dont like coald water okay so exept the face you are a 3month'r and just get one with your life. I have surfed since I was a kid and I have grown up around the water my whole life. Surfing is life style not a sport as you call it . Baseball is a sport , Football is a sport. What seperates Surfing from a sport or Hobby is that Surfing has a culture or life style as a previously meantions. We have our own language and rules . You can tell who is new or a outsider by how they comduct themselves in and out of the water. From what I have read it seem in my opinon that you are a 3 month'r or a warm water warrior. You Sponge have fun but dont inderstand the emotional side that surfing can unfold to you . The water has alot to say I think you should start listening

 

i know this sounds crazy, but I sometimes enjoy crowds (as long as its not all kooks). where I surf, there are maybe 3 people out at most on a really good day, and I dont have alot of friends that surf so I'm basically alone. every day its just me, and maybe some creepy old guy on funboard, so I'm welcome to more surfers in the water

Whats the Differenec with a Grom starting out in Esa or NSSA and then to the pro tour as they get older compared to a guy getting a full paid ride playing college ball they to the Minor and so on to the Major.

Well I'll tell you somewheres from little legue to the Majors it becomes a job !!! How many pro surfer do you see living large? Yeah sponsors pay for alot but most pro surfers have some sort of product or something withe there name on it that the get a kick back from

Also you dont hear alot of baseball player about the emotional & physical connection they have when they step out on the feild and or when they hit home plate . All you here from them is they are noth happy with there contract so they are going on strike like 6 million dollars to play a kids game isnt enough money.
