It was a long ass paddle at AI. Fortunately found a nice little rip that practically carried me the 1/2 mile outside. lot's of closeouts Saturday but got into some ripping rights too. good fun!

Sunday I started my search at AI. It looked a couple feet overhead but was really sectiony and didn't look worth the paddle. Pass

Headed to OCMD. Checked a bunch of spots. Big closeout barrels close to the beach. Would have been worth it for the rippers not worried about breaking their boards. Pass.

Surfed spot x in Delaware, really really fun. Crowded as sheeat but did I say it was really fun? Chest to shoulder high sets, some bigger every now and then. Great day on the water, stayed clean until about 2-2:30.

The paddle out at AI was not bad like anywhere else when there is real waves, it wasn't closing out at all some people need to learn how to ride waves

yeah it was super fun where I was in OC, MD. It was nice and clean for an hour or so with some waves opening up. Felt good to get in something powerful again. Found some thick ones to get in. Didn't want to leave.

Yeah the Cove is always flat now as days. That place you to break so well back in the day now its luck of the draw really. Just a cpl Jettys north of the cove it was going off. Definatly CM at it finest

Steve was there last night & was some ugly ones chewing the beach up. South towards the sign, lots of water moving in all directions.

September almost always brings swell, but wind conditions are almost always super unreliable. In my opinion, for the Mid Atlantic, October is generally the best month. Generally there are some tropical storms in the mix, but what is good is the frontal systems start moving through again which brings back the stiff offshore wind days. The best is when you get that hybrid tropical storm, turned extra tropical monster cyclone that just sits off the coast churning. +1 for October.

Aha. Yeah, I guess the good ol' days are gone for the time being. Thanks for the pointer--we only got out to look at the Cove and at the other end of town before going to find food.

A.I. was a ton of fun on sunday. I made the mistake of wearing my 3/2, got dehydrated, cramped, and am still sore today. Made me realize i need to get back in the pool, hopefully there will be a few more good storms.

I've never dropped in waves like them. Its my first summer really surfing. I went out in earl but was a little too nervous to drop in. When I went home after earl I was kinda disappointed in myself so i watched a couple videos of people dropping in and realized i just gotta bend my knees, aim down and get ready for some speed! So anyway I caught plenty of head high waves and never had so much fun.

OK, I put the crack pipe down, now what?!

I surf the dead of winter, with snow on the ground....and I can say that where I was I spent more time in big, beautiful, clean barrels than any other day this year...
