Late Friday was the best time for me. The rest of the weekend got a little messy with the winds.

i had my best session on monday after school...best size, organization, etc...it all really came together then. the rest of the weekend was fun...fri, sat, sun were fun & i'll never gripe about surfing 4 days in a row, but mon. pm was just great. very fun!

Sunday/Monday were the best for me but there were still some solid punchy leftovers early this am in CM

i have no doubt & really wish i could've been on it, but i had to educate future generations. it's only just the 3rd week of school, so i figure it's a bit cheesy to call out just yet. that's also the main reason i didn't blow it off monday. it'd be kind of obvious, you know?

Friday afternoon was the best and Saturday was also good. Heard getting out Monday was rough and the drift was insane.

you had to time it right...i got out w/ only about 4 duckdives, all in the shorebreak area. typical of a long period swell, the lulls were pretty long. the drift was there, but not insane. it was easy to paddle against it if that was what you wanted to do. i generally chose not to & saved my energy for catching waves.

i think it depended very heavily on where you were. i checked some spots in ocnj that looked like washing machines, but where i surfed was really clean & fairly well organized.

i went to cape may on monday. It was clean and barreling waist to chest. like an idiot I got back in the car looking for size and got skunked. njsurfer42, how far south in oc did you go? the north was a mess like AC.

i live at the south end & avoid the north if at all possible. i didn't even bother looking down there after hearing from multiple friends that it was a mess. i ended up further south...somewhere.

Definitely one of those swells that varied greatly from place to place. If you knew where to go, and had the time to travel, you could score every day. For me, I agree that Friday was the best... that windswell/groundswell combo was working beautifully, and early Sunday was solid, semi-clean and fun at the right spot/right tide. But other than that, Saturday and for most of the day on Sunday... the good waves were few and far between where I was. Monday and Tuesday I couldn't get in the water, but local beaches up here were not looking good.

Friday evening was definitely the best for me. Waves were peeling. And I found a break just as good as my usual spot with only 3 other people there! Rest of the weekend was ok too, but I will remember Friday.

Friday am was fun - real peak-y - but also some small mini-barrels - got covered up a few times, fun crouching head-dips. Something was in the water though, literally. It was brown and smelled like a sewage plant. I guess thats what happens when it doesn't rain for a month then torrential downpours all night. Oh well. by Saturday am couldn't get out of bed all day, missed the entire rest of the swell, still feeling not 100%

Same sh!t (pun intended) happened to me. After surfing Saturday, I was bed ridden on Sunday and still congested into yesterday. I've reported the local water quality several times, but who knows if anyone listens.

    wow, no way...

i surfed lb fri morning (SICK session) and the water was bad, but not as bad as earl. south jersey on sat the water was pretty brown, and sunday in deal it was cleaner than all other days.

i got a gnarly sinus infection from earl that is finally tapering off.

I have to agree, Igor was dookie and so far this hurricane season has been really really weak. I just think we are all getting desprate, waist to head long period close outs being epic, IDK about that. Friday's wind swell was 10X better than Igor, whats up with that. These past few swells have been GARBAGE, Earl only fired for the DP and the evening ses, and even then it wasn't Jersey at its best. I remember being scared for some hurricane swells. I sure hope it gets better:confused:. P.S there is always going to be a high level of fecal coliform in our water, especially after a good rain. The best thing you can do to help prevent the sinus infections is to get a sinus wash (neti pot) and use it after each swell. You need to get that dirty water out of your face. I have had too many swollen glands and infections from this filthy water. I still get sick but not nearly as much now.

What I wouldn't give to drag my a$$ in that left... brown tide, red tide, poo water... whatever!
