I was wondering if anyone has tried the Firewire Alternator. Do they really live up to the hype? And most importantly, are they worth all the money? Is it a good east coast board? I also had some questions about board length. I am 5'6" and 150lbs and I am looking for a fast loose board with a tight turning radius. Would a 5'8" do the trick or would a 5'10" be better? And how the durability?

im 6'1 210lbs and have the alternator since july. i absolutely love it. sooo easy to paddle i bought the 6'4 and its too big. the firewire foam floats unreal. definitely go with the smaller board.

I also have 2 firewire boards and I can say they are my favorite to ride. Just got the sweet potato and I love it so far!

I am currently shaping a 5'6" retro fish that is going to be my versatile board. I was thinking that the alternator would my high performance board for days when the waves are better.
