waves weren't great today (north end of vb) but the swellinfo forecast was spot on .props. knee to thigh and clean enough early afternoon. some fun drops but then everything mushed out. it was nice to be out burning off yesterday's mashed potato calorie gain even if it it was in a mess of mashed potatoes...anybody else get some?

Caught a session in Seagirt, size was better than predicted. It was lining up nicely on the bars. Best with a slightly higher but falling tide around 12-1. A humpback whale cruised in about 50 yards outside the break! I thought he was going to beach himself and I was going to soil my suit. He went further out and did about 15 tailslaps. Awesom sight.
I heard it was good at the Hook today . I was working a double so I didnt get out but looks like there might be some semi clean waves tomorrow morning
long branch from 12-2 waist to chest weak but pretty perfect waves. some just kept peeling and a few little barrels, too. totally satisfied. now onto a 20 hr plane ride to south africa to surf in a 3/2 for the next month!
