Wana go back this March for a week and a half but I'm afraid that's not a long enough time for a swell to hit and I don't wana be stuck surfing tradeswell on the north coast. I went for a month last year and swell was no problem and the west coast lit up nicely. It's just a ways to go and a bit of money to risk having no swell. Does anyone have any ideas about a place that's relatively cheap to get to that the odds of swell are better in March?
As you get closer you gotta watch charts and forecasts. You'll need to make your reservation/ticket, etc before hand but if for that week it's not looking good, you can move around the island
Puerto Rico is pretty cheap I'd say, just have to find the right accommodations. Have you check out the Swellinfo Puerto Rico Surf Vacation Rentals listings. I'd say Puerto Rico is a pretty reliable bet in march, but its also hard to beat the consistency of Costa Rica - which will be a similar budget.
