I picked up my Legend Retro Twin today . Now we need some swell with a bit of juice for me to use it Dims are 5'10 x 21 x 2 &5/8 Sorry for the Blurry pics
sick looking board! stringerless? hard to tell... & i thought you were getting a twin? you went twinzer? b. wynn has got me thinking about twinzers after our last chat. i can ride those dims...if it actually is a twinzer, we may need to meet up! you're stoked! good one!
Twin or twinzer?...either way...looks like it will be a fun board! Twinzers...mmm...I been on a twinny kick on my homemade gear and love the speed. I think I may just pull the trigger and try a HPSB--wider tail...wing and swallow...hmmmm. May have to be my next build!
Its a Retro Twin Fin. Twinnies , Twinzer didnt know there was a differnce between the 2. I and 165 in boardies so with winter rubber I guess add 15 lbs . It came with Future T1 fins but I am gonna run down to Heritage and see if the Rasta fins are avaible to rent cause I got a really good lead on a set for cheap and I would to try them before I buy them
Good luck with the new board, Matt... I rode my retro fish yesterday for the second session. I'm a huge fan. Most people don't appreciate and take advantage of the full range conditions a fish can excel in... thinking it's just for tiny waves. The performance parameters of a well designed fish go far beyond what most people believe.
ditto...rode my "retro" twinnie yesterday afternoon in stomach chest high maryland...clean lined up not really hollow but not mushy. Agree those boards are not knee high grovel boards...Matt...my board dims are exactly what you just got...5'10" x 21" x 2 1/2" its amazing how well those boards paddle in full winter rubber. I have ridden this board with both the Futures T1 fins and the rasta fins and theres not a great deal of difference.
I hear the Rasta's have more drive but still have the good turning ablitiy without it feeling supper loose
I've had two retro fishes for the last two years...5'5" x 21" and 5'10" x 21" and swap out the Futures T1 and the Rasta keels pretty regularly over many sessions on both boards. I'm pretty confident if i were riding either one of those boards and didnt know which fins were on the board, i couldnt possibly tell the difference. Boards like the shape you posted above with any kind of keel fins aren't going to be super loose, nor were they meant to be. They both have TONS of drive. When you pump down the line on one of these boards you ACCELERATE.
When i get hooked up and in sync with mine you can just feel the board feeding off the wave. Makes waist high waves fun.
No it has a stringer but it real hard to seen. If you wanna try it let me know after I pop its cherry your more than welcome to give it a try
Sweet board, Matt! I wish I could get on something that small. Twinzers have smaller (and greater canted) fins in front of the drive fins. Sounds like you're going with straight up keels. Nice!
that is a sick looking board, matt. i'd definitely be up for giving it a go once you break her in a bit.
Kool like I said your more than welcome too. I went over the Heritage Sunday and checked out the rasta keels on the tree I am gonna give them a go and compare them to the T1's
Matt - I'm not sure what I like better...the retro board or the retro mustache in the picture on the dresser. Regardless, enjoy the new stick!
right on...must've missed you. enjoy the rasta's. i think the vector foil on them will give you a bit more lift & drive.
