    OOOO I second that

Yea some of those guys need an attitude change. I had trashed talked, and waves snaked by alot of those guys and to this day its the reason why I don't patronize their store. Someone needs to step up and let them know that while their skill represents their shop, so does their poor treatment of other riders. P.s. I'm from Baltimore.....and i can hang.

If you do not really know any of them how do you know they are From K-Coast?

I know of only one employee that is KNOWN to Drop-in on anyone at anytime,..from K-Coast,.. and yes the guy is sure not good enough to justify it, in any way.

However, K-Coast is not the only team riders in Town. I can say for fact that the good team riders in O.C. are aggressive, and some are good enough to justify it.

But listen to yourself, .................What I want you to explain to me is how you figure someone owes your anything?

You really got to love this new crowd, you know the ones that go on about how they have been surfing around here for 3 years?, 5 years?, ...and now somehow they are owed a spot and respect in the line-up. Then you got these, >Boo Hoo,< why are people so mean out in the water when I drive 3 hours to go surfing,... types. Most of the locals Know who has been here over the years, and I am not talking about the last 3 to 5 years.

The vast majority of time, the ones who do complain about such things tend to suck the big one. If you do not like how you are being treated, just go somewhere else. Stop trying to be a rock star and hanging out/surfing at the top breaks where you are most likely going to be pushed aside anyway. If you are acting like a KooK, most likely you will be treated like one.

Hey SC ive been around for a while and im sure you dont know who I am but I know were on the same page as this one...I am a Kcoast employee, and a team rider, and yeah, there are a few guys on the team that are aggro and will drop in on you, and have the ability to totally shred it. but in their defense, they are locally, and we all know how it feels to see a bunch of new faces in the lineup who themselves dont have respect for the waves we ride. So I dont see why its only the Kcoast guys giving people heat, I'm sure there are tons of other surfers/bodyboarders be what it may with the same attitude, why give Kcoast such a bad name?

try not paddling out right next to a group of guys or a spot that you know and everyone else knows is going to be crowded (for ocmd standards). there are alot of places to go. of course locals will drop in on you. you dont hear these complaints during the winter when its cold, miserable and there are only a handful of guys out in the whole town. as far as kcoast, the guys have been nothing but good to most people (fletcher, hairball, chad ect).

maybe if you are driving down to get waves try somewhere that has no crowd. it isnt like oc has one spot that you have to be. there is not one break that is so much better than every other.

you should have to spend a little time freezing your sack off and having your face burnt by the winter winds to even surf in town. that is why people get pissed when it warms up and now everyone is a surfer. and everyone has a sob story about how they drove down to the ocean and a mean surfer dropped in on them. and if you are a local and you got dropped in on then i am sorry and it is something that happens when you live on the redneck riveria.

and last but not least everyone should go directly to 48th street it is the best break in town.

    K Coast Guys?

When I first read this thread I was wondering how it was that only K-Coast guys were guilty of doing this. How would you know? Some do have team stickers on their boards; however, it is pretty hard to see them in the water. I personally know the owners and several of the team riders, in fact two of my sons are team riders, and I have never known them to be anything but respectful in and out of the water. Yes the kids can be aggressive at times, as are many of the kids and better surfers.

Face it, summer is here, crowds are here, kooks are here and tempers may flare on occassion. OC has ten miles of beach, everyone doesn't have to surf at 48th street. Trust me when I say the waves are breaking just as good at several other places in town. Find a spot that isn't crowded if you don't want to surf in the pack and fight for waves.

One last point, last week when the swell was on, I did notice a lot of driftwood in the water doing nothing but getting in the way.

    Now go have fun!!!!

There is a lot of driftwood in midtown almost year around, minus the blistering cold days. I don't surf Ocean City much, once a month maybe, I tend to stay north of that, but I definitely notice the driftwood factor when I go there. I paddle out there, and am NOT an OC local by any means, and get just about any wave I want. If your aggressive and know how to get waves, and where to position yourself, you can get a lot of waves in OC easily.

    poonies

dude, stop f-in crying. if you roll up on a spot that some one frequently surfs, you better give them the respect they deserve. especially if you have that "every surfer is equal" attitude, b/c that is just dumb. you don't see the homie who has a shtty jumper or lay up go cryin to his moma when the other brothers kick him the fck off the court till he can come back and hang. jeezus, surfing is a commitment, and to the dudes who are commited, out there every time there is swell, no matter what, which I'm sure is how dem K coast boys are, I say you have the right to snake the kook who ain't gonna take it off the peak. I've never met them boys, but i bet they are like me, and get pissed when you roll up on their spot and cramp their style. If you don't like someones attitude in the water, either leave them alone, do something about it, or leave!

The K-Coast guys have always been good to me when I am in the shop. I have only disliked one of them (short guy with a bunch of tatoos up in the board room). Never surfed with any of them that I know of since I surf anywhere where knowone else is, doing that is easy in OC even in the summer if your willing to get up early, surf late or surf a less than perfect wave.
