Got my car all banged up by some a-hole last Saturday night while it was parked on the street in Annapolis. Now I'm stuck here with no surf (not that there's much in OC now anyway) for the next TWENTY FOUR DAYS. Faaaaaaaawwwk. Too lame. Anyone else ever have this happen? Apparently the guy hit the rear end and pushed it up onto the sidewalk and into both a brick wall and the car in front of it.
I stopped drinking this year. When I was pulled over this December in a roab block type of holiday situation I just looked at the cop and said: I don't drink alcohol. He accepted it and let me go on without a word. It felt great. As for the Ahole who hit your car - it will come back to him/her...
Never lost out on surf, but had a drunk 18 year old girl bounce off my Buick Grand National when I was back in Charleston. Try getting OEM parts for one of those! More recently, a drunk Norfolk school teacher rear ended my wife and me on a Friday night. Hit us so hard that she went under the truck and my rear tires were off the ground. We were trying to ask her if she was alright, but she wouldn't roll down the window or make eye contact. Waited for over 30 minutes for the cops to show up before she took it upon herself to back out from under the truck and take off down Little Creek Road...weaving in both lanes, as well as driving up on the right curb and center median. Gave the cops the plate number (after they showed). They never followed up.
FYI, to the VB folks. The city of Virginia Beach issues more DUI violations per capita than any other city/county in the State, and is one of the top 5 in the country I believe as well. Last spring, following someone down through Greatbridge and called in a potential DUI driver. Followed them long enough until I saw an officer roll in behind them a few cars up. Saw the guy get pulled and looking in the mirror after I pased by, I saw the officer open the door and the driver stand up and promptly fall into the street. I have pretty much stopped drinking as well. I had some friends nearly kill themselves in a Rhino UTV over 4th of July. It belonged to another friend's dad and two other guys, neither of which knew the owner or owners son very well at all, jumped onto it and took it down through the woods hauling azz, both way too drunk to be driving anything, and promptly lost control and wrapped it around a tree. Driver was banged up bad, (no belt) and passenger with a belt was beat up pretty rough too. Price tag on the Rhino new was $14,000. All said and done they managed $7,500 worth of repairs to it and we aren't allowed to use the property anymore. I felt worst for the son of the owner of the Rhino. He had told them they could "drive it out in the field and turn around and bring it back, and to stay out of the woods with it". He had to explain to his dad what happened. Not good.
I had this happed 4 years ago . Lady that lived at the end of my block was leaving the local bar in town trashed . She was doing 60mph down my street and put my Wifes Hyundai in the back of my ford f-150 . I was walking for 3 months cause her insurace company kept trying to **** me over. All i could get from her was 5k and there was a total of 5400 in damages. The Lady said she would pay the amount not paid so I worked with her said he could give me 50 dollars aweek til its paid off. We she paid me twice and dodged me after that which is kinda hard since she lived 6 houses down. So I took her to court got my money back . But it sucked cause I spent all summer walking or taking the bus while she drove a renal car which I feel should have been mine
That's a hard hit, did the driver abandoned the car and/or a hit and run? That's a nice fast ride down memory lane some might think that's was a hand me down car from father
I know you try to give people a break and work with them and then they try to screw you even from some you never thought would. I had a man back into my brand new SUV with only 800 miles on it with his Landrover. I wanted a police report and he begged me not to call the cops for a report. I figured he play by the rules since his fault anyway plus he was retired Lt. Col and VP of Pepsi Bottling for Mid Atlantic Region. When I filed a claim with his Insurance Co I was shocked the games this man stated to play. We tighten the screws down so tight with his insurance company they forced him to settle to avoid further potention litigation. Then 9 months later standing in line at restaurant this man was waiting too with a business group. He makes the mistake talking to me how sorry he was for what happened. He opened the door so I slammed it telling him in front of his business group. You begged me not to call the police for a report, admitted accident was your fault and you would repair my new truck. I thought since you were retired Lt. Col and VP of Pepsi you were a man of your word. That was my mistake, assuming an Officer and a man of your accomblishment would have more integrity to do what was right rather than stoop so low to commit perjury. He was so red faced and his business group was just stunned. He got what he deserved and it felt great
