so for all of us that have been dying for waves over the last few weeks/months, now we have waves I'm sure i'm not the only one having this issue... how many of you "in-shape" guys/girls that could normally make it out when its double overhead are finding it hard to make it past waist to chest mush?? this flat spell killed me! now what??
After the first couple sets I was back in the saddle . Tomorrow morning looks good I am gonna get a prework session in if its not raining cause I gotta put the kids on bus if it is
My suggestion is to make sure you have a "sports" tampon in. I think the next thread topic should be.. I had a diarrhea explosion while paddling out.. should I flush my suit or just surf in shiite all session?
HAHAHHAHAH! True story: my friend had a diarrhea explosion in his suit so he decided to drive home with the suit on.
forecast looks great but ofcourse i have to slave for some breadcrumbs. hopefully it doesn't fade too much in the afternoon. i'm out by lunch or i quit!
SHUT UP!!! your the only guy on the eastcoast that claims that its been a great winter...you'll be on here tomorrow claiming it was 10ft. i know the type, you see one rogue 5ft peak and claim headhigh+
uh,actually,i have agreed on swellinfo several times that this winter was the worst, but there was waves, and if it's bigger at the right place at the right time,it's bigger than when you surf it smaller, but it doesn't look small or bad today
ha! it was a shock this morning! then i just hit it hard and made it out pretty easy. I never checked report this morning and was expecting chest high and was greeted by monsters trying to eat me! it was fun and cold as sh!t!
I think the original poster had a valid idea. Even missing a few days for me makes me lose a step the next session, at first. It takes about 15 minutes of paddling. Maybe 3 waves, and then im back into better form. Your paddle muscles just dont get loose enough doing weight training and random cardio. Unless you are out swimming on a daily, rocking out your paddle muscles, you will ALWAYS lose a slight step going into your next session. Especially in feb/march when its cold as$ water... So, I feel you bro. It happens to all of us. Regardless of where you live. If you spend a little time out of the water, your sh** is slightly off. Even your foot placement and positioning can get a little lazy at first. You just gotta get a couple waves, paddle back out to the lineup through a few waves, get your blood pumping etc, then you will be fine.
