I'm with you DTK, GO Flyers..I live down here in VA, so I get to see some games on VS. Saw the one against Pittsburg- great game and beating the Habs was bonus.

Always been a Flyers fan..way back it was 88Etrain (Lindros), LeClair, and Brind'amour, I remember seeing Hextall play and Rick Tocchet who also played with a lot of intensity. The games with the Devils were great to watch and hate to admit it, but Scott Stevens was probably the best open ice hitter then. Lindros know about that....

I think they have a great young talented team, gotta love Pronger and what he brings and and Giroux scores if he's within 10ft of the net.

my god the devils really screwed john maclean. in every sport it seems to be the practice to fire a coach of some ****ty team. see what happened to the last nhl team who did that? haha the islanders they won like 4 games in over a month since they replaced their head coach. the devils tonight got their asses kicked by the islanders 5 to 1, and the islanders are the only team in the nhl with a worse record than them. it's good they got lemaire back, but don't forget the devils started playing badly the second half of last season. not nearly as bad as this season though. they still made it to the playoffs, and then a disastrous first round. parise is out, langenbrunner, and elias are starting to show their age, and brodeur who i was thinking wasn't as bad as he looks, because the defense sucks, and he's carrying the whole freight, and playing defense all by himself well he's starting to show his age too. this guy kovalchuk isn't that great. yeah he scores some goals, but he's garbage for a $100 million dollar contract over 15 years. and no i can't play any better than him, but i'm not getting paid over $6 million a year like he is. so yeah it's lamoriello's fault for making such stupid decisions. john maclean i don't know if he was doing a damn good job coaching, but honestly he wasn't doing any worse than jacques lemaire tonight. i don't think the problem lies within the coaching. the team is playing like ****. there are times when you point your finger at the coaching, but the problem doesn't lie within the coaching this time.

this will be the first year since 1995/1996 the devils won't be making the playoffs. there is no way they are making the playoffs this year. maybe if they win EVERY game for the rest of the season, or all but a few, and hopefully those few are overtime losses. everyone will say it's rough, because jacques lemaire is just getting in, and it's a transition phase, and emotions are running high, and they will be on the right path in a few games. thats crap. seriously kovalchuk's contract was a HUGE mistake. did anyone ever see the shootout where he let the puck totally slip away? the guy is 27 do you really think he's still gonna be playing when he's 43 when his contract is up? psshhhhh. i grew up with the rangers. the devils didn't move to jersey until i was 11, and i stopped watching hockey when i was about 12, and started watching again when i was about 19. i am used to seeing successful devils teams, and i'm pretty sure they have only missed the playoffs once in the 20 years i been following them. just had to rant.

ill be one of those few pengun fans in here. been a fan since the lemieux/jagr days. as much as you gotta love crosby if hes on your team... gets way too much media he attention. favorite player is still lemiuex. fluery still has a lot of potential for the future. pens just gotta beefen up the D in front of him. losing gonchar was a huge mistake in my opinion. good D and still put points on the board

Yea they really shouldve kept all the players that made their team. instead of get rid of them for that piece of trash Kovalchuck. Ive never heard of half the people on their team now.

yeah i'm not excited about many of these players at all. that henrik tallinder is whatever, and all those others garbage players they got. zajac hasn't been performing very well at all this season though, and elias, and langenbrunner are looking terrible this year. they haven't done anything. marty is slowing down. i still think any other goaltender would be getting pounced on worse than him, but still a very poor performance this year so far. sometimes he's the only guy playing defense, and it's hard to do the job of 6 guys by yourself. their best player is out for months. parise is doubtful for the rest of the season. kovalchuk is the $100 million dollar blunder. for 15 years they are stuck with him. he was very good last year though i don't know what happened to him. maybe he's lost the incentive to play after being content with this big money contract. i really don't know.

i miss the 90s devils. i was a season ticket holder from 92-93 season all the way until 99-00. i did attend a handful of games every season, but stopped buying tickets. my buddy has had them all throughout the years, and i started going again the first year of the prudential center in 07. i went to most games, and the last two years i have been a season ticket holder. the tickets were getting outrageously high come 2000 so i gave em up for almost a decade. now that i have my own business i can afford them again with no problem. 93-94 were exciting times. marty was young, and he was the best accident the devils ever got, because of terreri's injury he was put in. it was exciting times. i loved claude lemieux, bill guerin, ken daneyko, john maclean, scott stevens, scott neidermayer and many more to name. it was a great team. that was jaques lemaire's first season. we though we were gonna win it all. so many fond memories from those days. we got taken out by the rangers in the conference finals. next year we won it all, but remember that season was shortened by the lockout it started in january i think. the devils were considered a fluke by many for having a mediocre record, and winning the cup in a shortened season that started late. and then the next season they didn't make the playoffs which was the last time they failed to make the playoffs. over the next 3 seasons they regrouped, and won the cup in 2000, and 2003 so they were taken seriously again.

just like surfing the devils are very important to me, and my life. some hockey fans just watch, and others are really into it. nothing wrong with the ones who aren't super devoted at all. i'm not the most devout fan, and my bedroom isn't painted red, and black, and i don't have a devils blanket on my bed[do have a few beach towels though!] and i don't have any devils tattoos, and i don't paint my face for games, but to say that the devils don't have a special place in me is lying. some people have fond memories of going with their dad to msg, or yankee stadium, or going to shea, or whatever.the real old timers will talk about going to the old madison square garden, or going to see ball games at ebbets field, or the polo grounds. i have loved the devils pretty much my whole adult life. i don't cry when the devils get their asses kicked, but it's sure disheartening. there are no guys left from 1990 when i started paying attention to the devils but marty has been there for 18 of the last 20 seasons. he's a year younger than me, and it's sad to see he isn't putting through what he has for every other year of his career.

You've got to be kidding. The Rangers are done. They can't score. The Caps are a powerhouse compared to NYR. Just accept it. Maybe next year...
