Its awesome. It's weird though. You can get into waves so easy but right when you stand up its a little slow on the take off but once you get it going i absolutely fly, like i can make it around 2 sections like i couldn't do on a regular shortboard. I think i like it too much, now i won't ever ride a regular shortboard. It hides LOTS of volume. you can go 1in smaller than you think. i ride 5'10-5'11 shortboards and got a 5'6 DD and I kinda wish I got a 5'5. But the thing turns like a regular shortboard and I find that I can throw the tail a little easier. I do find that Its a little soft on backside carves

My buddy and I had about 3 peaks to ourselves right in town...we also spent the afternoon at the designated beach with a grand total of about 8 people over two hours.

Assawoman Bay....one of the finest names ever. Whenever I ride out there with first-timers, they do a triple-take on that name. Esp chicas....

Hear ya, Lee & don't worry about my corn flakes. I spent my winter surfing other places, like Barbados, so although I'm sure you had great waves in VB, well, Barbados was pretty good, too. One of my favorite places. If I could blow off here for a couple months, that would be where I'd go just to surf.
Maybe post some pics of CR ?

I just roll with it; thus, the waves of the Memorial Day wknd in VB were just fine to have fun with, because that was the reality of the moment. No sense, to my mind, in comparing what it is to what was or to what could be. (Although surfers are notorious for doing exactly that:"You shoulda been here yesterday, dude!")

And yes, I was out there in March all rubber'd up. All I can say is that I luv me my 7-mil boots...

Yeah, from what I hear its a love/hate kind of board it just doesnt work for some people but it sounds like its working well for you. I really like my Lost Stealth, a little shorter and wider than a standard shortboard but not squashed down quite as much as the DD. I'm gonna have to try and demo one or something similar sometime. Just curious whats your height/weight? I was thinking the 5'6" for me at 5'8" 140lbs.

5'8 150...maybe 155. I gained about 10lbs in beer during the past miserable winter. I can still kill it though. you can rock between a 5'4-5'6 depending on how old you are and how hard you rip. if you get the 5'6 it may feel a bit big, but it will perform very nicely for you. You'll be stoked.

so I was driving down the street in my little town, and I see the CI Demo Bus parked outside this one dudes house I know. Turns out the Ci demo bus driver is boys with the guy I know and the bus driver has been there for the past few days.....but the night I found out he was leaving early the next morning to go to AC. Sooo pretty much if I knew right away I could have been riding every CI surfboard in the damn Truck. Bummed.

That sucks man, kinda funny though how you just stumble upon it like that. I'm heading down to NC this weekend and the van is gonna be up in NJ, I think it was just down in NC last week. Bad timing for me too, but oh well I probably shouldnt demo any boards anyway cause then I'll just be more tempted to buy one when I really dont need one haha.
