five min from where i'm staying. i've gotten it really good at nausset a few years ago, like chest high glass. so far the best waves i've surfed in the cape.

i usually check marconi and coast guard but it's been generally flat when i'm there.

also, we get ORV permits for the national seashore and generally spend our time on the beach there. i've gotten it like knee high at best. you think it'll be worth cruising up there, especially since it's kind of an ENE facing beach? the sandbars are always so amazing... _MG_4285.jpg

I don't think you can go on the outer beach right now due to the plovers, not 100% sure of that.

you're partially right. i just talked to them and they told me a good portion is closed, but in total, there is about a mile open. some in the race point area and some in north truro.
    stupid f**king birds.

anyway, will it be worth checking up there since the angle of the beach is facing more north? i'd check around truro since it's the southernmost portion of the orv section. i'd sacrifice a bit of size to have my choice of sandbar...

Truro works best when there isn't much S in the swell so anything out of the NE NNE etc is nice for there. Also it will handle SW wind much better. What is your timing? Friday Saturday this week look to have some potential but its a SSE swell as of right now so Truro wont be very good.

Just got up and will be here until next Monday. I was thinking there won't be much swell showing up there with the SE direction. That combined with only one mile of open ORV access is leading me not to even get the permit.

I was thinking of checking Nauset primarily since I'm staying in Orleans. Maybe wellfleet or Marconi as well.

surfed knee high mush yesterday and last night. better than nothing i guess.

renting a foam longboard and teaching my girlfriend to surf today. i suppose ill bring a shortboard but i looked at coast guard cam and it looks about knee high. i'd be stunned if it's chest high

Do you guys have a name for the obnoxious Boston-ers that come to the Cape?
