Hey everybody, Just had a few questions to ask which will probably make me sound like a moron but whatever. I\'m 15, 6\'0 and i weigh 140 pounds. I\'ve surfed twice so far on a 7\'0 epoxy and had no troubles at all, I\'m now looking to improve my surfing and move to a smaller board. Really I\'m looking for a board that would do great in crap summer beachbreak surf in OC MD, but also work well in bigger conditions. Something that will keep me busy for a while even as I progress in surfing. So far from what I\'ve been researching the Al merrick fishcuit, buiscuit and pod are great for small surf as well as the Firewire quadfish and futura. ANY advice at all would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!
A lot of those boards are expensive. If thats not a problem, most of those boards are fish boards which are a good transition. Go on craigslist and get a used one for half the cost.
Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it! And I was planning on getting a board of off craigslist for sure. I found a almost brand new 6'2 firewire quadfish for $360 so I'll probably go for that.
Thats a good price for a Firewire. Try it out and if you don't like it you should be able to get your money back.
that's a great price. you could always check out the mini simmons boards that have become popular. they're wide and flat similar to a fish, and are great for small summer waves.
Definitely get that firewire if you can. That's a really good price, and firewires are really fun to surf.
