$250 for a beginner board. Ridden probably 5 times. Practically Brand new condition. Its orange and white. I'll try to get a picture up later.
As much as I don't like funboards, or NSPs for that matter, they too have their place... surf schools, rentals... places where performance is less important than durability. That being said, $250 is dirt cheap for a like-new board. A few days rental and that thing has paid for itself. I'd target a local surf school... and start with "$350 OBO."
A long time ago i had to go to Mobile Alabama for work in May. Flight landed in late morning on a Saturday, and i had a whole afternoon/evening to kill. Drove over to Pensacola Beach and to my amazement it was hot, clean, and chest high lefts were spinning off the pier. Best waves in two months according to guys in the lineup, and rental boards were non existent. The fourth shop I tried also had no rentals but stripped the plastic wrap (for some reason they come to the shop shrink wrapped!!) off a brand new Bic 7' funshape that was on the rack for sale, and rented it. That day, that board served a purpose.
Once I had to rent a Bic longboard to surf belly high Malibu... I was desperate and that's all I could get my hands on. Never got dropped in on so many times in my life...
that particular board sells for 400 new, so probably 300 would be better for a surf school. and I had one for my first board and it has been reliable for a long time. **** does NOT break. ever
It would be an interesting experiment it you had ridden the BIC for a couple of hours and then gone in and paddled back out on (insert repected locally shaped brand) and judged whether people actually exercised better etiquette.
