What was the biggest wave you ever surfed? I surfed like around 17 foot waves around the time of isabel in Trinidad and Tobago. What about you friends?
Mexico Puerto Valarta beachbreak 7ft wave Oct 2006 heavy closeouts! Puerto Rico Rincon Marias 8ft sets and bigger Jan 2007 craziest holdowns! Long Island Lido Beach 6-8ft Nov 3 2007 epic day! I cant wait til I ride my first 10 plus bomb. I'll need to get some cojones first!!
first time to oahu when i was 19, on the last day of my 2 month trip, i paddled out at haleiwa with some friends. it was "6-8ft" and omfg i thought i was going to die. i have no idea how big the faces were, that place is heavy!!
Salsa Bravo Session of my life at "Salsa Bravo" in Puerto Viejo, CR. sick point break, drove all night from the pacific coast. I awoke to heaven. 15-17 ft faces, mid tide, just jacking up off the reef. Scared ****tless. but paddled out with two buddies of mine. Caught one, dropped in, and pulled into a barrel I would never forget. It just dumped over my head and i took off. With a few locals hootin and only surreal palm trees in my vision, i couldnt help but enjoi the moment of pure legal extasy. Got caught inside after a few more, the reef left its mark but I will never forget that first barrel. ahhh got me thinking about it! and no damn waves!
I generally don't care what is said and enjoy the comedic value of this form. However I think its higly unlikely that you rode 17 ft hurricane surf in Trinidad as a child. Let's try to be at least a little bit truthful. We should refrain from outlandish claims about monster surf or girlfriends in the Niagra Falls region.
The largest iv ridden had to be something like 8 to 10ft in OBX. Or at least thats what it seamed. The largest iv tried to get out was when a tropical storm hit oceancity in nov and it looked to be 15+ faces. Tried to paddle out twice but my wetsuit was crap and my hands started turning black ha since i didnt have gloves.
Salsa is ridiculous. I was there a long time ago, but i still think its the best wave I've ever seen in person. Like Backdoor, but more perfect. And outside of the wave, the town of Puerto Veijo is insane!!
You can think I am telling a lie. But I do not really care. It was a hot and sunny day. It was very clean. It was packed. People all different ages. I just sat and watched the waves for about an hour, before my brother and my coz said they are going to go out. I wanted to go with them they said no. But as they started to paddle out; I jumped in a followed them. I was very scared. I sat out in the line up for a long time. My 16 year old brother caught a ton. He told me it is not that dangerous and I should go for it. So I did. And got worked. Then I got pumped up and went for it again. I caught 3. It was sick.
Yeah.......I call BS....you didn't ride no 17 ft. wave please. I looked at your posts and you are mostly asking basic questions. Anyone that's an experienced surfer would have known most of the questions that you asked. You watch way too much surf porn.
8-10 feet this winter, quite euphoric..although we don't know what was more intense- catching the waves themselves or the paddle out in the middle of such large swells PS- 17 feet, nice!
had some that had to be over ten foot they were slapping the bottom of the piers in seaside my friends had some sweet rides i caught like 4 and the last one worked me hard it was fun stuff tho
Psh. I suck too much at surfing to paddle out when its big. I'll paddle into 5 footers on my fun board and get worked. On the other hand, I've dropped in on my stomach (no board, body surfin oh yeah) on 8+ footers. Its a sick time when you actually don't get worked in a barrel and make it out.
biggest wave???? biggest wave i've ever surfed was the 1st saturday of September during Ernesto (the really windy sloppy victory at sea day) and i went out next to a jetty with some of my friends. i was i think 14 and i caught one wave that was like triple overhead on me, and probably couple feet overhead on most people(i was really short then). well i remember it had a nice face but i was too afraid to do a turn so i just went straight. well that was one to remember, ha..actually i caught some bombs during that saturday of noel, and that was heaving clean barrels not victory at sea, those were the biggest clean waves i've surfed, it think.....
