I know its still early, but Katia is supposed to hit category 3 in the carribean. do you think we can see another one fly up the coast?

Hope I don't jinx it, but as of right now, Katia has the potential to be a dreamgirl……the perfect storm. A nice big powerful cane that pumps out multiple days of long period waves but that stays far enough off that we don’t have to deal with the wind and all the associated complications.

She is getting a wee bit too strong too fast and sometimes that will cause a system to head due north...we shall see.

too early to be sure, but it looks like a front may keep her offshore.....keep your fingers crossed.

Her lower intensity and track is getting very interesting...some models show that she could linger for a solid 2 week swell maker...sexy!

oh i hope she stays off the coast to make it perfect, she'll be a great way to slowly close the summer

lets just hope she stays out to sea, we don't want to get all mixed up with the evacs and closed roads and floods that'll stop or make it harder for us to reach the beach.. But it looks like mother nature is making up for the 3+ week flat spell we had this summer!

The forecast shows a pretty good fetch in our general direction. Should lead to something for most of us here in the mid atlantic. If she hangs just west of bermuda, we'll all be very happy.
