Anybody else exhausted from surfing almost everyday, 2 - 5 hours for over 2 weeks? I surfed again today and was spazzing out, too funny. Don't get me wrong, I WILL paddle out tomorrow :D.

oh yeah. also, i had a bruise, scratch, or variation of the two on all four of my limbs, both feet, a thumb, and on my head. the wipeouts tend to add up after all these days.

thank you, blessed Poseidon for these waves

:D Thankfully I have avoided any major wipeouts. I feel most of the burn in my thighs and shoulders, today I was groaning after 2 paddle outs. My legs aren't doing what they are supposed to do. I'm cruising around on my shortboard like it's a longboard, barely able to persuade it to turn up the face :).

if youre beat from surfing then youre not training properly during non surf days. or you havent been surfing very long.

Yes these past few weeks have been something else. everytime I paddle out my arms and body feel it. Lots of aches and pains but just push through it and it just gets better. The muscle and fitness training from being out so much is like no other and my girlfriend loves it. All that ocean stoke creates a perpetual smile. Got rocked more times in the past two weeks than over the past few years. I was actually happy yesterday when a friend lent me his 10 ft log just to take a break from the fish. Surf, work a few hours, surf again, work a few hours, surf again..... Paradise!

Maybe but I don't think so. Been surfing 30 + years, workout (75% cardio 25 percent strength) 1.5 hours daily on days I don't surf 5 days a week. 6'1" 190lbs. I have a hard time believing anyone could surf as much as I have in the last 2 weeks and not be spent (not spent enough to keep me out of the water though). I'm also not the old guy sitting outside waiting for the big sets, I'm the guy that goes down the beach catching everywave I can for
2 - 5 hours. I would like to learn the secret to not being tired after that. Could be dietary though since i like to surf empty and feel like I'm starving by the end of a session.

Im kind of the same way with trying to catch every single wave.Im going to change that mentality once im back in the water thou.Do you keep yourself Hydrated?Water,Gatoraid, and Coconut water goes a long ways.

Goodvibes, that's good advice. I have bad habits about all that stuff, hydration could be worth a try. Pacing myself might be a good idea also. Surfing is the one thing that makes me feel like a kid so I'm super excited when i'm out there and tend to burn myself out. I have seen young guys come out and do the same thing but they ussually leave after an hour or so and then again theyre 16 years old, lol.

if you're surfing on a completely empty stomach, that would explain a lot. Food is where your body gets energy from, so without food in your system, your body wont get energy. Don't need anything heavy, but a little bit of carbs and a chunk of protein should help you out. It's probably a good idea to wait about 30 mins after eating before you surf, so eat as soon as you wake up.

....and pits, stomach, inner thighs, knees...but... it's stomach high right now and clean, so i'll see ya guys later.;)

can't get enough when theres waves, guaranteed right when i paddle out i will feel the burn in my shoulders 1st paddle

    - also, quick question, i've been having back spasms in the water recently thats been really hindering my stoke, is that because i'm just out of shape or surfed out, or something more serious?
