I dinged up my fish pretty badly and im looking to have it repaired without having to throw down some big numbers anyone know of any good people around the asbury park, nj area? if so I guess comment on this or hit me up with a private message thanks.
Do it yourself! It's the only way you will learn. Ding kit is only $15 and will last a few repairs Here is where Youtube is a good thing lol
I agree, it's not hard - or spellbinders does good work for cheap. I would offer to do it for nothing (depending on the severity) if I didnt have work and school. I wouldnt want to leave you more than a day or two without the board.
I agree w/ fupafest. If it's just something like a rail ding you can sand it, clean it out and apply a glass " bandage". I tape the area w/ masking tape, making a rectangle a little larger than the repair area. After the resin sets pull off the tape and you have a neat looking repair you can sand down. You just have to be sure that if it's polyester resin you use the real Silmar type suff you get in a surfboard repair kit or at a shop, the polyester resin you get at Lowes is the same color as gasoline or maple syrup and the repair really looks like a repair. Of course if the board is epoxy you should use epoxy. It really is easy and rewarding to do.
