Just wanted to share the good vibes and say that I try and pick up a plastic bottle every time I surf and put it in the trash. Along with plastic bags, plastic bottles are among the most prevalent sources of pollution found on our beaches. (Ocean Conservency) If every single surfer picked up one plastic bottle after a session I think it's a small token of thanks to give back for the hours of stoke we get from the ocean. Have a great weekend! Peace
Can't agree more! Got smacked in the chest with a 2 liter filled with sand one time. That sh*t ruins your session, not to mention the beach!
I live in a deposit state so every can or bottle I pick up is like finding small change on the beach...
Nice!!..I do the same and get my Gf's kids involved. I'm quick to call out fat rednecks who throw their trash around as well..
the water bottle caps are the worst. i collect them in a bag, then send them to aveda to get recycled. they turn them into shampoo bottle caps and stuff
I pick up any trash I see. However, I pick up waaaaay more while fishing. Found some cool stuff over the years amongst the literal hundreds of pounds I have plucked from the ocean offshore.
I always leave the beach with a few more items than then when I came there. Taught this to my eight year old daughter...who is completely flabbergasted and disgusted that people litter.
I love casting out and trying to catch plastic bags floating down the inlet. Its fun and is good for the water
amen to this thread boys.
doody in the pool!!!! sadly, picked up an aerosol paint can and a plastic bag floating in the break today...and lotsa sh!t on the shore. it's like a boat exploded off catalina or somethin. unusual for our water.....
On my walk back to the car I pu anything within reach, some days need a zig zag because there's a ton. Then there's days you just have to put your gear down and do a whole mini beach clean up. Make whoever I'm with do it too, kids, wife, bros. Resets your Karma meter.
Good to hear I hate people who trash especially when driving behind them on the way down to the surf as they launch their f-ing big mac wrapper out the window. Should be locked up for 24 hours with pvjumper05 video playing on loop while pumping mushroom gas into the room! Peace!
My father and I lived in northern Japan (Misawa) when I was in high school in the mid 90's. We would beach-comb Japanese glass fishing floats and hunt for surf for hours..The amount of trash and debris on the beach was unbelievable..It was sad to see such an amazing place be so neglected...
