another troll!??! he has to be, nobody but gruvi the troll can make such kook statements defending his non-kook status. its like he defends himself against kook-hood by saying summer surf is the best time of year to get barrels. its mind-blowing

    k back on topic...

i despise cold water, hate it beyond all hell. i still surf year-round, but god i already miss the summer warmth

Of course I hate the cold. everyone does. it blows. doens't mean i won't be out when ever theres waves. if i need to be wearing 15lbs of neoprene to surf head high perfect surf with no one than so be it. doesn't mean i wish the water was 80 degrees.

    oh and sandysurfer,
YOU just don't get it hombre

Okay well I am obviously getting a lot of negative feed back here so can someone please help me. I already thought I was a surfer but apparently according to this entire forum I am not. Can someone fill me in on how to act like a surfer so I fit in on this forum? I am not sure what the hell I am doing wrong and just wanna meet some bros. Geez I didn't know there was a strict code to follow. Please educate me cause I just realized what barney and kook mean and I dont wanna be one of those.

There are lots of you at SU. At first i thought this is obviously a person who created the name sandytoes2 to grab attention and have fun. But on second thought 9 out of 10 of the "surfers" i meet are like you. So i shouldn't be surprised one of you leaked onto this forum. From my old party day observations there is no helping you. Just keep being yourself.

Thanks for the encouragement man. All I'm trying to do is be myself but apparently people here seem to think I don't fit the requirements to be a surfer. I honestly don't care what any of you think. Like I said everyone in my apartment complex thinks of me as a surfer so I believe them. Like I said surfing is about more than riding waves to me. Even if I'm chilling at the beach with a few Nattys, my guitar and my board I'm still a surfer if I'm not in the water.

    Okay to start:

    1. Make sure you only surf in the summer time cause that's when the babe's on the beach can see you shred.

    2. Make sure to be up on all the lingo. You're obviously well versed in this with your use of rad, harsh, bros, and hommies.

    3. Make sure you look the part. You can't be taken seriously if you don't look like you surf. The more money you spend on surf clothes the better.

    4. Get some of your frat buddies to go to the beach cause people will think you're cooler if you're seen surfing with other cool frat guys.

    5. Make sure you're seen when you wax up that surftech so people know for you are real. Put a whole bars worth on that thing. Then they'll take you seriously.

I'm sure others can elaborate on this but this should be a good start.

    Don't be a barney, barney!

Those of all people don't know what a surfer is. Their idea of a surfer is what they see in Blue Crush... *shudders*. They're the people who think hollister clothing is a real surf company. They're the people that think they're "in the know" when they buy a Ron Jon hoodie on vacation.... It seems you aren't far from them.

You seem to think that the frat life and the surfing life can go hand in hand...it doesn't work like that. When we're putting in early morning water time during frigid sessions to improve our surfing you're still sleeping on that hangover from a night of being an idiot.

Guess who's enjoying life more throughout that day? The guys looking back on the clean chest-highs illuminated by the rising sun earlier that morning or the guy (you) who's throwing his guts up swearing he'll never drink again far into lunch time?

Guess who'll look back years later and appreciate their accomplishments and the things they've seen? I know I'm not missing memories of some snot-nosed frat boy ripping his shirt off before picking fights with the majority of the house. I do miss, though, some of the sessions I've had with some of the closest (non-frat) brothers. Some of my best memories are in the water, not with my head in the toilet.

Please don't feed the trolls. This forum is slowly being overrun, but at least its still way better then the surfermag forums. Any one ever been to those? Nothing even about surfing. I like swell info for the same reason I love winter surf, less kooks and more stoke.

(Not actually my very first post, just changed usernames cause I can't consider myself a vbgrom)

I don't get the hostility. I have surfed, I own 2 surfboards, and I live by the beach. Just because I like to toss down a few brews seems to make you people think that I am not a real surfer. I am just as much of a surfer as the rest of you. Like I said anyone down in the 'bury are PM me if your trying to chill. Nothing better than watching a surf flick drinking some beers and toking a bowl. Hope to see you guys in the water.

Kinda entertaining to browse the surfermag forums sometimes, but the content is about 90% non-sense, 5% spam, 5% surfing.
