all the googling in the world has left me mostly empty handed, so here goes: where is there a videogame store along the outerbanks, from kdh as far down as ocracoke, including a wee bit inland as well. i know there is a walmart and gamestop in elizabeth city but i was hoping for something closer, preferably a game-specific store. any suggestions?

haters gonna hate, sorry some of you are too cool to buy videogames, or too cool to play videogames (i like using xbox live, but i download most games for pc and some games for single player to burn and play on my modded 360, for the record and the sake of my geek street cred), or assume that because i would play a videogame i must not enter the water in the 'cool' (double entendre lulz) months. im glad i helped that one guy with his insomnia though. maybe if i was in your position(s), confronted with the choice to be helpful or just be a self righteous douche about something so insanely trivial.. just maybe id be a douche too because hey, i know it can be really satisfying. i did see village video along with a few others that seemed like the typical hole in the wall place youd expect in an area that people, myself included, go to for its remoteness and LACK of commercial stores. the fact is i was just curious if any stores were doing a midnight release of halo anniversary that i could attend. what a nerd right? clearly i must be! no job, no girl(s), no friends outside of my internet clan, living in my parents basement.. yeah thats totally me. im only bothering to respond to a) bump this in the hope that someone normal will be a pal and give me decent info, and b) beachbreak ive read your posts here and there and i know that, like a 13 year old girl, you preach how you hate drama but its clear to everyone you secretly relish it :)

edit: i also have been on here since early '06 under a different name, so i guess in that respect i am much cooler than all the responders thus far

I don't know of any places down that way, but I do have a question for you...I'm headed down there in a couple weeks and just wondering if 12 is re-opened. I know a lot of the road got taken out during Irene, just wondering if it's passable yet. An answer would be fantastic. Thank you!

Haha, well played! But I agree that this kind of post should go in a video game forum or something, let's stick to surfing here.

Koki -Hwy 12 is open again.
Joe if you ask for a range rom KDH to Ocracoke, why not just head north from KDH toward Myock or Chesapeake ? Many more options that direction

There needs to be a new surfing game made for platforms. Whats the last one, KS's pro surfer? So many more skateboarding and snowboarding games made. There should be a game made based on the World Tour, with weekly stats updated similar to Madden. Even add in a legends section.
I think there is a good market for it, through out all age groups....perfect for flat spells.

transworld surf is by far my favorite.. just recent re-bought it and its as good as it ever was.. all they would really have to do is update the graphics and add some spots which would be easily done in all the next gen consoles we currently have. i gave the area because ill be staying in the middle-ish so i was just thinking roughly the same distance in either direction. its not really urgent, i wont even have my xbox with me, just thought it might be neat to show up at something that would have like-minded people assuming there would be those of you who both surf and play games. not to mention, stuff like that around where i am now usually has a ton of people, but i would guess something down in that area would be a little small turnout and might be more like hanging out than waiting in line amongst weirdos. anyway ill check out that place that hatey mchaterson. my original name was 'the joe whittle'.. didnt ever post much, uploaded a few random pictures. i couldnt remember the email/pw i used but you cant view embedded pics on this forum without being logged in, so i made a new account.

KS Pro Surfer for Gamecube was definitely the last good title. There was also a decent surfing game for Dreamcast called Championship Surfer. That game was pretty addicting. Not as nice as KS Pro, but the gameplay was very smooth.

Now take the way back machine, anybody remember surfing games for NES? There was a game by T&C Surf where you could surf as a gorilla and skateboard too. And then there was my favorite, California Games where one of the events was surfing.

its cool dude, im paying no mind and if everyone did that for every minor annoyance in their lives, they would all be the happier for it lol. i understand the tunnel vision of potential waves in my future, the joy, the agony, the inability to sleep, but also i have a brain which can do more than one thing at a time, and occasionally one of those things is planning on play more videogames. anyway like i said i googled my nuts right off but its a large area and a lot of stores probably either dont have websites, or dont have ones that might not have the popularity to be on the first few pages of a google search
