Living local legend! Excerpt from Epic Shirts Facebook post: "Jeff Beverly Sr. was surfing Bayhead yesterday when he noticed a board with a surfer unconscious in the water. He dragged the guy to shore and performed CPR on his lifeless body. Because of Jeff's swift actions, and a little help from above, the man's vital signs returned. He was transported to the hospital and seems to be making a good recovery. Jeff saved this man's life. A man with a wife and family that will cherish each day forward. Unbelievable job Jeff!!! Any wave you want (not like that's a problem !!! Look out for each other, just like JB did ATTACH=CONFIG]4227[/ATTACH] Mr. Bevs is the man!
I was surfing this same spot yesterday and witnessed this surfer as he was rescued (made for a rough night of sleep). I had no idea he had even gone down in the surf. I'm so thankful that guys like Jeff are out there and hope this guy has a speedy recovery. Glad to hear he made it! Great job Jeff and thank you!
Bravo Jeff! Nice work. I once helped save a guy who got karate chopped by his longboard in Stone Harbor. Look out for each other, some day it may be YOU who needs to be rescued.
Jeff's a good guy I had the privledge of meeting him this summer at the tuckerton seaport . He a really laid back guy and it one of the pioneers of Jersey Surfing
Wow, amazing story... that is why its always good to make friends, not foes... you never know when you need someone's help in or out of the water.
Way to go Jeff - truely a life saver. And thanks to all those other countless people who have pulled people out of the water with out so much as a thank you in the end. You know who you are.
Def a selfless act, and it should remind all of us to rise to the occasion if we see another person in trouble in the water. It's good to know that there are caring people out there. Way to go, Jeff!
Jeff is a great guy, like Matt Johnson said, he is a pioneer of NJ surfing.....and you will still see him in the line up through every season....definitely a life long stoke that he has keep here.
Thats awesome. I allways keep an eye out on the groms and big guys when im out... make sure they pop up after a lickin. Anyone know what happened? waves were like 2-3 ft. in the am .. maybe hit a sandbar?
From what I heard Jeff seen him floating down from a cpl blocks over so they think he hit his head on the bottom or with his board
