361 days, so basically a year. He kills it but I hope he retires cuz nobody is gonna match him now or ever. He has that competitive spirit though so who the hell knows...Congrats Ke11y
he won it back to back. if u watched the heat today u would have seen he earned that win. He also missed a contest earlier in the tour this yr. wonder if this is it for him?
andy irons was to kelly slater as the joker is to batman... Andy got the better of kelly a few times, but kelly kept his cool when andy went crazy. RIP AI one year today....
ANdy won a few, but more often than not, they both competed at 100% levels, and Kelly got him about 90% of the time.... RIP Andy, but Andy just simply was not on Slaters talent level... no one, of any age is anywhere near kelly. He can do it all. no one else can. Everyone else is good at some aspect of surfing, kelly is just the best... at every aspect.... its crazy.... just plain crazy.... Andy Irons is like all the poor bastards that had to golf against tiger woods in his hay day.... Even if you were one of the best in the world, and probably would have won a half dozen titles, you just simply couldnt. Cause there was one guy, every single year that at the end of it just ended up dominating.... Its just a shame guys like Andy were alive and competing in this era... no one ever had a chance... People are just all gunning for second... And when Andy did win, Kellys head wasnt in the game. He had a brief baywatch blink where he was over the tour and wasnt focused. Him losing to Andy re-focused him and he never looked back....
I don't think anyone will ever get to 11 world title like Kelly... he is a legend and made history that will prolly never be overwritten. Its like he hit his peak and stayed at his peak, after Andy's wins. RIP...
