I dont understand why lbi is forecasted to be bigger then north jers tommorow. can someone explain this to me. Its an east swell. I can understand that it will probably be better further south because of the swell hitting land at an angle. But I dont understand why seaside wouldnt pick up a EES swell just as good as lbi. Help me out swellinfo. I'm confused
If you look at the wave maps, you will see there is some N in the swell, and you will also see that there is more swell as you head south.
the storm that generated the swell happened to be east of new jersey. with its ene winds, it makes sense that the more north you go the smaller the swell will be, mostly because it didnt send waves that way and smaller period as it had less to travel. like micah said, you need to look at more than just the graphs to get an idea of how/where the swell is being produced
