As a coffee lover myself, when its real cold I fill up a thermos (spend the $20 and get a great one) with hot coffee and leave in the car for a great way to warm up pre-freezingmyazzoff wetsuit removal... stays hot in 30 degree weather for 2 hours +

Perfect seasonal meal lineup... having a wawa within walking distance of my house burns holes through my pockets though.

Coconut water right from the coconut, or if not somewhere tropical the boxed stuff is pretty good. Coca cola in the glass bottle hecho en mexico is mighty fine as well.

I personally go for a Naked juice/smoothie (or similar) if I'm lazy or I bring a smoothie from home with blueberries, banana, flax seeds, almond milk, and greens powder -- sometimes with a bit of avocado thrown in for fat (you don't taste it among all the other stuff). And, of course, a big jug of water on the side. Perfect.

First off, to determine what is and isn't good for you, you must know what happens to the body during fatigue and overload training and how each and every individual reacts during the refueling stage (the first :30 minutes after your workout is CRUCIAL for recovery.) The facts: The number one nutrient and substance lost in our bodies during a hard workout is salt & water. With that being said, Gatorade was designed to do exactly that; put back in what is "mostly" lost. There are better sports drinks available. My favorite is Endorox R4 (4 grams of carbs to 1 gram protein + vitamins & nutrients.) Any elite level athlete has a certain brand that they will enjoy, but the fact is, Gatorade works. I must admit, a dark beer is heaven after my 10 mile runs and 50 bike rides. Being a triathlete, nutrition is a key part of my life. But, like I have seen mentioned above, there are times when a coke is what I crave. With everything in life, too much of one thing is never good, so take it (literally) with a grain of a salt! More questions? PM me...

Read in Men's Health that a McDonald's strawberry shake isn't bad after a workout...Not the best choice of course, but at least I can justify gettin' that shake. Now the Mcnuggets I also get, on the other hand...

There is this boom of companies creating Coconut drinks. I found this one from the company Taste Nirvana, that is the best thing I ever had... Just pure Coconut, nothing else, and its amazing. I don't like the other Coconut water's all that much, but this stuff is amazing... Ive only seen it in health food stores.

I like to do a Zico Pineapple coconut water before to help avoid the dreaded calf cramps, and post session go with a Propel Rasberry Lemonade powder packet in a large (20 oz. +) water bottle.
