ron paul has no chance. i like ron paul too. the conservatives don't like him cause he's not a ''i hate ****s let's bomb the fug out of everyone who looks at us the wrong way'' kind of redneck conservative who thinks all these wars are deficit neutral.

the liberals don't like him, because they can't come to terms with the fact that obama sucks, and is no better than bush, and really isn't a lesser of two evils, and is the biggest joke of a president we've ever had. same foreign policy, health care mandates FORCING americans to buy health care or be fined or better yet TAXED. making the bush problem, and making it even worse. assassination of us citizens. another conflict in libya. i don't know if obama is the worst president of all time, because he isn't much worse than any other president we've had, but he's the biggest joke of a president we've ever had, and has lied more than any other president we've ever had to get into office. there is a double standard to him that makes me sick.

ron paul's age also works against him. he'd be 78 years old when takes office if he won this election or he would be about to turn 78.

the fact michelle bachmann is higher in polls than him is a joke.

anyway yeah good surf would be excellent!

As long as you don't have those "Add 4 inches to your ***!" ads I think you're good.

Ron Paul running is critical in this election, ESPECIALLY if he runs as an independent. No, he will never and never had a chance of actually being elected but he can steal votes from Obama and the Republican candidate to impact the results of the election.

and... eatswell, Obama is much much worse for this country than Bush. He has spent, on average, almost 4 times as much per day as Bush. At least Bush would stand up for us. If Bush was in office and Iran had our drone he would have bombed them back to the stoneage. Obama asked for it back nicely, to which they laughed...

Look at factual data and prove this, 'cause this is just not the case.

AGREED. i don't think bush was a good president though. obama is a joke. i was just pointing out the hypocrisy, and double standard of how liberals think he is a messiah and hate bush, because of his foreign policy when obama has made a carbon copy of it. EVERYTHING they hated bush for obama has kept the same. the guy is a fraud. bush did stars the bailouts though.

obama takrs credit for ending the war in iraq too, but pretty sure bush set the deadline for end of 2011 to leave iraq. obama sucks all these liberals, and occupy wall street people need to realie this.

to be fair the next president will probably br worse. they have a HUGE mess to clean up. obama touted he could clean up yhe bush mess. this guy will do the same, and make an idiot out of tehmselves. especially if it's romney.

we need a true fiscal conservative to reverse the never ending spending spree. This "true fiscal conservative" will go down as the worst president in history since the media will absolutely try to destroy the "true fiscal conservative". These are hard cuts to make...hard choices to make...very unpopular with 50 percent of the country.

What's the alternative? Continue to tax business and earners to prop up ever expanding social services and civil servants AND the businesses and earners will continue to leave the country for greener pastures. this quasi-socialism doesn't work because business are still free to leave and will and are!! It's either "real socialism", govt control of industry (in order to keep them here) or "real capitalism" meaning govt creates a climate to keep business here to employ the masses.

The industry i work in as an environmental consultant, i work at large chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing plants in the NY metro area. What do we do you ask? We put together closure inspection/survey packages as these plants close up shop and move out. (it keeps me busy for 6 months to a year per job, but those 10, 20, 100 full time jobs are gone!) Why do they move? Alot of factors...one major one is simple. Cost of doing business, primarily payroll and pensions. The unions have the most ridiculous strangle hold on industry. Some of the union rules would make you laugh (and cry)..they are so ridiculous...and don't foster a climate for business to grow.

Think about it....either socialize us (and we become slaves to govt...but secure) or let us have the freedom to succeed and fail. Live and die....life is tough. Life is fragile.

Consider Ben Franklin's quote: "They that give up essential liberty to obtain temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety"

i don't know by day, but look at the us debt clock. if you look at this day in 2000 before bush took over, and then look at this day in 2008 before obama took over, and look at today you will see the debt has went up $5 trillion since obama took over, and bush made it go up by a few trillion in 8 years, but pretty sure obama outdid him in less than 4.

I'm REALLY hoping the next couple of weeks is full of surf and NOT full of political debates with family members. If anybody tries to talk politics I'm walking out the door, getting in my car, and driving straight to the beach!

Anyone know if Con-Edison is unionized? Worst utility company I've ever dealt with as a consultant, the pace puts DMV to shame.

    Woah

Lostsoul.... I like you. I was about to write almost exactly what you just wrote, but of course your rant has wonderful work experience in the private sector and im just a college shmoe....and no lie had that quote from Benny Franklin in the back of my mind whilst reading this thread. Also presidential nominee speaking, it's ashame I think I like mitt, what we really need is a nominee all republicans, and citizens, are stoked about. My question is, when and who is going to be the next American hero? Reagan was the last, some may then say fdr...then is it Lincoln? We need one quick to unite our ever socially and politically split nation

Maybe but i doubt it. More likely he'd do what he did in the past:

Go to NATO and the UN to establish a coalition of 20-30 countries with us paying 95% of the cost and supplying 75% of the troops.

Bomb for a few days then go and and attempt to rally the people around a new "free" regime.

Spend 10 years and hundreds of billions of dollars "nation building".

    :)

Truth. Perhaps there's a Fiscal Conservatives Anonymous forum somewhere for this sort of conversation?

I'm hoping for 10 days in Costa Rica in early April with buddies. C'mon, Santa!
