I wonder how many of us have actually seen what we look like when we surf.

I know I never have, except for a few stills, which really don't capture much.

My friends and I used to vid ourselves all the time when we were in middle and high school. It can be equally depressing and stoke inducing. We don't do it anymore now that we are "grownups" and time seems to be at too much of a premium these days. I mean, who in their right mind is going to get out of the water when it's cranking!?

It would be a reality check for most of us, but with a kind edit i'm sure we could all look pretty good. Brek that is great my ex used to think I was gonna get eaten everytime I went out, LOL maybe thats why it didn't work out.

I think a reality check is good sometimes but not too much. I video and record my music students when they're preparing for a concert and they all go "Aaaaa!" but they also learn so much from it and wind up performing beyond their expectations. Surfing is the same thing. Remember how they analized Bethany Hamiltons surfing with video from the movie 'Soul Surfer'? Good example. I've seen myself in lots of pics and one video in a Delaware surf video at Indian River. It was cool. Nice long tube ride with the sun pushing through the backside. The problem with pics is the photographer always tends to wait til your close and the wave is virtually done to take the photo instead of getting you in the critical moments.
