Does anyone know if theres a surf report for Monmouth county on twitter? been searching a little and havent found one much thanks
If you do, please make sure and thank them by paddling up on them (preferably bring a group) and feel free to drop in on them, since they apparently like surfing in crowds.
Really??? A twitter surf report? For fack's sake you have Internet access to several surf reports and cams...is it that difficult to take a quick ride to check it anyway? What next? Hiring guys to knock on your door and reporting after checking it for you. Stop being so dependent on things like this people.
i really dont think twitter surf reports are all that far off. quick updates, dont see the difference between going on this site or going on twitter. its the same difference. if it hasnt happened yet, i would put money on it within a year or 2
Clearly the people that are hating this Twitter idea, dont understand the concept or even have Twitter accounts. I have been looking as well. I follow some of my friends who post reports. It's so easy from my cell phone. I have the swellinfo App. but sometimes the reports are not as accurate as stated. I understand you guys hating the surf reports, because it informs more people about the swell, and that ticks me off as well. But give it up, with todays technology and and how fast the world operates, anyone can get this info at any time, anywhere. You b_tching about it doesn't improve the situation at all. It's good to have a few sources, on the swell and how it is. Twitter is a great tool for that. If you follow a good core of surfers from your local breaks you can snatch some good first hand info, on many different breaks.
Listen Benny, If you hate Jersey so much, stay the fuk out of our forum. There's kooks everywhere. You look like one yourself with your GoPro pictures.....lol Thank GOD for keyboards!!!!! At least I don't have to listen to your horrible accent.
Really? Well no Sh_t! I'm stating that it is very resourceful, if you are unable to make it to the beach at that moment, or your at work etc..........
hilarious that twitter really pisses everyone off. its a resource and why not use it. most people work or go to school, a little tough to check conditions first hand. i was against twitter for the longest time but i get a ton of info super fast and always up to date. times are changing get used to it
All it would take is for a few people to choose a hashtag to post reports and start using it consistently. #njsurfreport makes sense. Could be a great tool. Personally, I'd follow it religiously and use it as a tool. I would read the reports but probably never post. If I pull up to the beach and there's a surprise little swell running, I may text one or two of my buds, but NO WAY in hell I'm posting it to twitter.
Yeah bro, the engine is running, but nobody's behind the wheel. You made a great point. Wait,........ did you?
Might as well shut down swell info and the other reporting sites too. Since the sport has become popular there are no way to prevent the crowds. Just gotta wait till the novelty wears off. It is what it is no sense in getting all jacked up about it. Twitter could be a very useful tool. Think of all those times u check the reporting sites showing that it looks good, you make the trek or rearrange ur plans and it's a wash.
I think we understand the concept perfectly....why do you think its complicated?? Just like you say "anyone can get the info" So that means "everyone". It evens the playing field between the lazy and those who make an effort. Just because the technology is inevitable doesnt mean its good. Please explain exactly what you like about the concept of YOU being out in the water at daybreak on a day when the swell wasnt forecast and some guy is sitting in his car tweeting that its firing and an hour later 15 people show up.
