What money did I give, and to call me a "college student"? It seems like its a joke that I am a "college student'. I had no idea it was so funny. I printed out pictures, and put them around my school. I guess that equals out too...."Whoa this guys crazy, giving them a ****load of money" Which they actually defended on how they divide it.

    http://s3.amazonaws.com/www.invisiblechildren.com/critiques.html

There we see a detailed pie chart of how they do.

And Travy actually without all the people on the internet protesting, (especially google), SOPA would have past. The internet is a way to stand for our rights. So I guess those "freedom fighters of facebook and twitter" have actually done something for you.

And who cares if its been around? If there's a mass murderer that's been around for 20 years and people are just finding out about him, is that a bad thing? That's quite obtuse of you. I'm sorry you have to hear about a topic you already know about, just because Americans and others are finding out about it now. Really, I am.

But hey, everyone has a right to their own opinion.

Never heard it. But my guess is that it means hell is filled with people of good intentions to do something but not actually doing it. Heaven is filled with people of good actions and actually doing something.

no, it means that good intentions most of time lead to disaster and MORE suffering. And FYI 'doing something' is not hanging papers, posting on the internet, etc. Actually do something that will help get this guy and bury him like join the service and asked to be sent to Uganda to the force already there. But once he's dead, don't be shocked when the next guy appears and does the exact same stuff.

    Not the Point

You don't even have to watch the video to know what this is about, so don't use the fact that the video is 30 minutes as an excuse to not know about it. I haven't even watched it and I know what it's about. This is more of an issue that should be handled by NGO's, non-governmental associations, because it's clear that congress can't pass anything. Now, obviously charities have to keep some money, organizations simply can't run without funds. Without the internet, SOPA would have been passed, and with that, we would be in the same boat as chinese citizens. This guy is obviously ruthless, and needs to be stopped, and the U.S. government is literally doing everything domestically possible to help our country, which is on the rise. I'm only a kid, I can't do much right now, but the people that can make a difference, and human rights activists should make an attempt to help in someway. A little help can go a long way.

Abductions, genocide... What have you has been around and been an inevitability since far before the United States was even an idea. It's a result of poverty and low education levels. Nothing stops the cycle... Killing one man doesn't stop the cycle. Stop promoting the man like he's one figure ruling over thousands of kids-- he has companions, lackeys, and partners just as vicious as him. In reality I'm just as effective by just 'wishing' they were all dead as I am in donating 2 dollars. Mark my words, this will stop being "cool" and superficial college Americans will move onto the next thing in a couple weeks.

exactly and worse yet, this campaign will succeed in sending huge sums of money and material to Kony's enemies who are most likely just as bad as he is.

How about..... f^@k Africa and lets worry about the kids who are being mistreated in our own country. While everyones attention is on locations in Africa they've never seen and problems that have been ongoing since before they were born, children on our own streets are hungry and abused, garbage is blowing down the beach and theres an upcoming presidential election in which all our choices for lack of a more intelligent word...suck!

Out of those posters you(the op) plan on "blanketing" your town with how many of them you think might wind up blowing around on the street or stuck in a dune?(did you even think of that?) I'm sure a higher number than the amount of people who read them and actually end up giving a sh!t....let alone a dollar.

This has been the topic of discussion at my college for the past week, it has turned into a Facebook bandwagon that while raising awareness has led people to develop views without knowing all the facts. Instead of actually doing the research themselves to develop their own knowledge of the matter, they are relying on word of mouth and extreme views of either side of the spectrum. While I agree that it is wrong what he is doing, it is something I feel that the US should not get too involved in, we are not the police of the world.

In the video they make is seem as if the US isn't doing a damn thing about it when in fact they have. During Bush's administration he worked to help mobilize and train the Ugandan army, but was unsuccessful in his capture. Then in 2009 Obama passed a bill which was unanimous in both the senate and the house of representatives. You can read the bill here http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:h2478:

Obama then sent 100 troops in Oct. of 2011 over to Uganda to help to once again train and advise the Ugandan army. http://www.defense.gov/news/newsarticle.aspx?id=65664

To say that the US isn't doing anything or enough is wrong in my opinion. The sad thing to is that for them to capture KONY the are most likely will have to fight his army, which are the children that the movie wants to protect. Inevitably some, if not most will die in a battle against foreign troops to bring KONY to justice. In this situation its not about cutting the head off the snake because another one will grow right back.

    Wake up

Why do people keep posting this? Reality check. We are. I don't like it but we are. When we have isolationist tendencies bad things happen and we have to step in...ie WWI & WWII. That said Iraq was dumb. Saddam was an arsehole but a necessary arsehole that kept Iran in check (read up sunni v shia & decade long Iran Iraq war). Lesson: Often when we have to militarily help one group it comes back to bite us... other examples: WWII allies China and Russia, Mujahideen in Afghanistan, Manuel Noreiga in Panama...etc. Point being we need to be picky about which arsehole we deal with and how it will affect the US. Sorry the world is not hugs and rainbows NEVER has been NEVER will be. Say we train up the Ugandan army and following the countless examples some Mobutu, Charles Taylor, Mugabe, Gaddafi, Idi Amin wanna be takes power and causes more problems and kills more people, destabilizes the region or invade oil rich regions. Bad news more problems.
Besides we can't even fight wars or intervene anywhere anymore without these same types of people complaining about it. Why do we tie our own hands. Conflicts with limited objectives Korea, Vietnam, Gulf war I, Somalia, Gulf war 2, Afghanistan. 1-3 lifetime with the last two to be decided as to their success. I would even argue that the first gulf war was not a victory seeing as how we had to go back. Wars were we indiscriminately kill people... undefeated lifetime.

Exactly. Everytime we practice isolationism we just get in trouble and it never works. Everyone keeps saying, if we put an end to Kony, nothing will happen. That's like saying you shouldn't vote because one vote doesnt make a difference. It's a collaboration. It's one step at a time. Kony's enemies obviously aren't strong enough to handle it themselves. We are a world superpower, hence making us one of if not the Chief policeman of the world. It's a responsibility that comes with being one of the leading nations. We assisted in Libya in the overthrowing of Gaddafi, and we need to help here as well.
